wow, if i were an outsider with no interest, what a great game to just watch. unfortunately, that's not me, and the only good news is i didn't have to watch that live...heartbreaking. All in all though, it was a well played game by both...huge heart shown by LSU and TN both. We just don't have all the horses we need right now.

Running game...sorely missed these days. Foster has glimpses of being great, but nothing consistent...and a lot of that has to do with the line.

Defense. hm. I really want to rip 'em, but i can't cause they kept us in it, but i can't praise them either, cause they ultimately cost us...they had HUGE plays thruout the course of the game...4 turnovers...4!!! but couldn't get them off the feild in two 3rd and longs in the 1st half and couldn't get a stop on 4th and 8 with the game on the line. and the last play, 2 LSU WR's open in the end zone. then there's the fake punt.....Les Miles 1st official good call of his career btw. Poor tackling and some blown coverages really hurt. How on Earth does russell get 70+ yds rushing? bend don't break....i think it broke a little Saturday night...

Offense...2 plays. that's it really. the running game is gone. and thank God for R. Meacham and J. Swain. WR's had some key drops early on when Ainge was still in. TE's had a good game. But at the end of the day, we don't have a running game to speak of...won't blame Crompton though...he showed a little something out there...but he's young and has a lot to learn. tough situation to be thrown in against that LSU defense (who played really well i might add).

Special teams...eh. Missed FG's, Fake punt....terrible decision in the 2nd half by Williams to even think about feilding that kick off...our kick offs were good though and the punting was good.

after 9 games...and seeing this team play...they are a pretty good football team. and that's it. they have big play capability, but can't punish a defense like we're used to. the defenses we play are not worn down in the 2nd half like we're used to seeing.

Injuries that kept folks out of this game hurt, and that's nothing new in football...but this year for this team, being as thin as we are in some spots, it's finally starting to show. Really kind of disappointed in the secondary...some blown coverages, poor tackling. but at the same time, they had 3 huge int's. D line had some good moments. Bolden, Ayers both had good games as did Mitchell. let me back up a second. The defense was really good all they way around on 1st down. they were good most of the time on 2nd down. I think for the most part, they did a good job of stopping the run, and they were hitting out there...very physical....at times(see poor tackling stated earlier). they got it handed to them too many times on 3rd and 4th down. Kudos to them for getting the turnovers....but they didn't really "stop" LSU all night...how many punts did they have? 1, 2?

Just like the FL game, except this time we needed the D to just stop them, played well enough to win til the very end. We didn't have the ball at all in the last 7 or 8 minutes of the game....

and up next...Arkansas....hm. I have no idea what to expect. Ainge likely won't play. several guys banged up....Foster suspended 1st half..no coker.

i don't like our chances on D against McFadden and Jones....think we'll keep it close, but i don't know we win this weekend. Too many injuries, too much off the feild...not a recipie for going to Fayeteville and getting a W. we'll see though. but if i were a betting man, i'd say we're staring 9-3 right in the face...

not overly disappointed (only because i knew the outcome before i watched keep in mind...), i knew this game would be tough, and i figured it as a loss before the season. but the way we lost...ouch...this one hurts. how do you get 4 turnovers and lose, at home???????:cray:

sorry for the rant...i have a reputation to uphold.:)

But we're the underdogs and you know what that means....

eh, for once...i don't think it matters. I could honestly see Ark winning big. not trying to be pessmiistic or anything, but we are definitely limping, literally, in to this game.

he has practiced a little this week, but what i kept reading was "we can't depend on him, cause we don't know really where is right now".

so it sounds like they are planning on going w/out him...

Man, I would definitley trade in the Monday Night Miracle in '05. I'd bet a large portion of money that if we'd lost that game, we would have won the game against LSU this year.

I know this one worries me more than LSU did and we know how that turned out. We'll definitely need some breaks to fall our way on this one. The WR's need to step it up one more notch and help a frosh QB out and our O-line needs to bust somebody in the mouth when it comes time to run he ball. Special teams needs to be near perfect in both directions. GO VOLS!!!!

point 1...same here.
points 2 & 3...we got 4 turnovers against LSU...can't imagine getting the same or more against Ark. LSU also was penalized a lot....and the WR will be the key to this game..they will have to just go get the ball no matter where it is.

will be very interesting.

we were underdogs against lsu, so i dont think that helps too much anymore. we'll just have to see. we need ainge back. crompton did everything we couldve asked him to do and i am excited about his future, but i dont think he can beat a good team on the road...yet.

Not used to hearing people say, or type, that.

yeah...ark has the chance to beat sc, lsu, bama, aub, tn in conf. play, and to beat uf for the sec title.

not to shabby if they accomplish that.
