Still won't work. Download your tickets to digital wallet. I don't believe for 1 second the wifi will work and cell service is non existent in and around most of the stadium. I have Verizon who sponsors UT and supposedly has towers nearby and phone rarely works.

We hear year after year that they've upgraded and worked on this embarrassing issue and it never gets better......

I don’t really use my phone for the games, except for taking photos and video. However, it is nice to be able to send text messages to meet up with friends during quarters, or where to meet after the game

So you only use it for photos, video, and text. In other words, you pretty much use it like everyone else. :)

Just a little friendly teasing. It continues to amaze me that our phone, one device that fits easily in a pocket, has replaced dozens of other devices, from watches and stopwatches to cameras and video cameras to alarm clocks to walkie-talkies to maps to radios to libraries to...well, phones.

Glad the university is putting real effort into making them reliable on game days, in and around the stadium. These days, that's important for both safety and convenience.

Go Vols!

Here is a novel thought, put down your phone and enjoy the game:eek:
Considering Neyland DOES NOT update scores in other games, like Bobby Denton USED to, back in the day...it's nice to be able to track score of "Other games of interest" on your own...with your phone...

THAT is what i use it for during the game.

Also, I like to see the instant reactions after a big play at Neyland on social media as well as instant stats for the game online.
having my phone is also useful when there is a challenged play and we get limited access from inside the stadium to good views.

multiple reasons for having a phone available with internet connections and still be into the game, and coming from West TN where AT&T runs rampant here I get little to no service in the Verizon friendly atmosphere of Neyland.

It's ridiculous that people have to go to the stupid wifi or the internet to get scores. I remember back in the day when you'd get Bobby on the PA - "Here is a score of interest ... in the fourth quarter, number fourteen LSU twenty-one, number 1 Florida ... [dramatic pause] ... fourteeeeeen." And the crowd would respond all at once, like a collective reaction of shock, and it was impressive to see how the news washed over everyone. Point is, the crowd was collectively "together" for those four hours. Man that was so cool when it happened. Real "where were you when" kind of moments.

They could still run the score ticket on all those fancypants LCD screens they have. No reason not to. "Oh, they have their phones, they don't need it any more." Yeah here's a thought, how about you run the score ticker so we don't need to check our phones. And don't tell me it doesn't matter. There's video out there of Florida's crowd reacting DURING their game with LSU when the 2022 Tennessee-Alabama score went final, and they reacted so loudly that the announcers explained what was going on. So don't tell me giving live score updated wouldn't matter.

Meh. It was much more of a shared group experience back then. And it was a lot neater than everyone with their faces shoved in phones every other second now. Whatever. It was just better.

The seat immediately in front of me has an enormous router mounted underneath. I'm pretty sure all of us in the immediate area receive surgery free vasectomies with our season ticket purchase.
The amount of access points has to be 300-400-500??? to cover Neyland without the system going belly up when about 80000 people are trying to view a replay, text about a win, send a celebration selfie, etc.

The power wiring alone has to have funded the college education of several electrician's kids.

Rocky Top WiFi
  • RockyTopWiFi was introduced prior to the 2023 season but has been upgraded heading into 2024. The WiFi will now reach throughout Neyland Stadium as fans are “encouraged to utilize the network and stay connected on their mobile devices during the game.”

  • New Televisions New televisions are scattered throughout Neyland Stadium to give fans a great look into what’s happening on the field from the concourse. The new TVs will be throughout the stadium including along the north and east concourse on Level 1 and the east and south concourse on Level 3 in Neyland Stadium, the G21 VolShop, and the NIL VolShop at Gate 24.
  • Vintage Volunteer Shop at Truly’s Tailgate“VolShop is introducing the Vintage Volunteer Shop inside Truly’s Tailgate located outside Gate 9. Fans can purchase classic gameday merchandise with all their favorite marks and logos. For the Chattanooga game, Truly’s Tailgate opens at 9:30 a.m. and will close at the end of the third quarter. Truly’s Tailgate gives fans in the south concourse a variety of food, drinks and additional restroom options.”
  • Trading Cards Gotta collect ’em all? Try the new Tennessee football trading card set at the vending machine inside Gate 24
  • “Home of the Vols” The Pilot-Neyland Stadium preservation partnership opened up the door for Tennessee to bring back the iconic “Home of the Vols’ signage above the East Skybox.
  • Yee-Haw Ole Smoky Social Deck “Vol Network announced an exciting, new multiyear partnership with Yee-Haw Brewing Company and Ole Smoky. Yee-Haw is now the exclusive craft beer of the Tennessee Volunteers. Ole Smoky’s moonshine has been named the exclusive moonshine of the Vols. The Social Deck in the north endzone is now the Yee-Haw Ole Smoky Social Deck. It will include many Yee-Haw brews, as well as various Ole Smoky drinks on tap. Fans throughout the stadium will be able to purchase the new Yee-Haw Vol Lager, the first-ever officially licensed, co-branded craft beer with the University of Tennessee.”
  • Transcard Premier Club The Lower West Club has turned into the Transcard Premier Club for the 2024 season, and will present some incredible features: “The luxurious premium access area features extra-wide, padded 22-inch chairback seats with expanded leg room, an adjoining climate-controlled club amenity level, private restrooms, enhanced food and beverage offerings, social spaces and televisions.”
  • Commemorative Tickets While the electronic ticketing system is a big win in terms of ease and accessibility, it did take away the classic physical ticket that many fans enjoyed collecting or saving from the game. Tennessee has announced that fans can purchase a commemorative ticket following each home game this season, which will be customized to each fan’s seating location, as opposed to just one stock ticket for everyone. More details to be announced later.

  • UT Med First Aid Stations “Vol fans can access UT Medical Center resources throughout Neyland Stadium, including onsite clinics and four first-aid stations—each equipped with innovative technology such as portable diagnostic services and advanced life support equipment. In addition to the four first aid stations, roaming medical teams will be present on all stadium levels, offering rapid medical care and enhancing the fan experience.”
