From the video I take it that Derek Reese practicing a little bit. Is it still going to take him some time for his shoulder?

One of the major issues that I had hoped was resolved in the off season. Feed the post!!!

It's definitely improved, but I think it will be an issue all year...Martin wants the ball in the post literally every possession to satisfy him...and there's nothing wrong with that IMO.

Dang, Trae's comments about Skyler's shooting are encouraging. And before anyone says anything, yes, I'm aware that "we hear about this every preseason".

Reese is working hard, but most of his time is spent on rehab and conditioning.
He seems to think he can be ready by the end of the season and some coach comments indicate he might play some.
My guess is he'll get a medical red shirt, because of our strength at the 3/4.

I know McBee can shoot, but "best shooter in the country?" Wow.... think about what you're saying there, Trae. That's a mighty tall order...

However, if true, then look out, because WE GONNA SHOCK THA WORLD!! (likely not true, though). :)

Ok gotcha. I like that he's at least in a practice uni. When I heard out six months I thought he wouldn't be out of a sling for some months.

When he was hot, he already held that title last year. Unfortuntately, he wasn't always hot. If he gets the consistency part nailed, he can be special.

Trae on Skylar...."he doesn't miss, ever...I mean, I haven't seen him miss this entire preseason...maybe once or twice...honestly"

WOW....if this translates into games I may be rethinking some of my predictions.

Also, the way trae talked about the exhibition we beat the piss out of GT.

I have heard this type of thing before about Skylar so it doesn't shock me Trae would say it. I just hope this year it translates out there during the real thing.

Just a guess and my total opinion, but I can see Reese not being here after this year... there's going to be a load of talent in front of him after the 13' recruiting class is complete and Edwards, McRae, and Richardson get another year of experience under their belt. Hope I'm wrong and he becomes a awesome player for us.

I think he will be here and will play very well. He can do a lot of things from the back court.

That's why I think he'll red shirt.
He'd be a freshman in McRae and Edwards senior seasons.
He'll be a good extra on the team base after that.
Causes all kinds of match up problems.

Martin will at least give a player a full year to "prove" themselves before he makes any decisions like that. The coaching staff likes Reese they just need to see how he can do on the court before doing anything.
