Fire Hart and Cheek---Of Course Dooley is gone but what about the other two?

Why isnt Heath Shuler our Athletic Director instead of
Dave Hart? Shuler is qualified after all he ran a real estate agency and was US Congressman. Dave Hart is connected to Bama and Fla. St. ,and Cheek is connected to Florida. Heath Shuler is a former Vol. Why are former Gator and Bama people running our university? Cheek "Mr. Gator" helped name Hart a Bama insider last year to run our athletics. If it smells funny then maybe it's part of the problem. Cheek has tried to destroy athletics by jacking up academics to the point we are among the hardest in SEC for athletes to get into school ! Now Dave Hart "Mr. Bama" is trying to tell big donors what to do and trying to overstep his authority to the big $$$ people! Why has Hart continued to be silent on Dooley? Why has Hart done nothing while the program burns to the ground? Is it to continue to undermine our football program by making sure we go 0-8 in the SEC? Florida and Bama would love that! When Dooley gets fired Cheek and Hart need to be fired as well. Let's get Florida and Alabama out of our school. If you dont like Shuler then name David Blackburn AD or name him interim AD and find someone with no connection to the SEC. Either way fire Hart-- he cant be trusted. Would Bama and Florida have 2 people from "enemy" schools at two of the three highest posts at THEIR universities?

Well, SteveinTenn, just about everything in your post is incorrect.

Hart deserves to hire his own football coach.

BOOM! There it is!!! Make Heath Shuler our chancellor and Fulmer our AD...Get the Bama and Fla alumni out of our school! WTF were we thinking????

My brother has worked in DC off and on for years. He said that it is a widely shared opinion, and his own personal opinion, that Heath Shuler is as sharp as a wet noodle. Just because the AD and Chancellor haven't shared their opinion on VN, or made decisions instantly based on how upset they get after an interception, doesn't mean they are not on top of it. Firing Dooley without a coach in mind who is interested in the job will put us in the desperate category. It would be better to keep Dooley than fire him with his buyout and then hire a coach we don't want and who can't win.

It is a valid question to ask how much the administration cares about winning at football. But they need to look at the Alabama caps, t-shirts and jackets they see every day on the streets of Tennessee, and each one of those means $$ for UA.

Ask yourself this question. Would Bama and Florida have 2 people from "enemy" schools at two of the three highest posts at THEIR universities?

This isnt about "conspiracy" it's about TRUST. People didnt ever trust Doug Dickey after he left for Florida in '69 right after losing the Gator Bowl to Florida. People didnt trust Bill Battle a former Bama assist and player either. Why hasnt someone stepped in and said Mr. Cheek 'you arent helping our football team you are putting us at a disadvantage' ?

For one, you claim that UT's academic standards are high and are hurting athletics makes you hard to take seriously, but even if true, that certainly is not something a Chancellor wouldn't be proud of.
Secondly, UF has a Chancellor from UCLA and AD with a degree from Ohio. The Chancellor of Alabama has a Penn St degree. Thirdly, it is sad that you think growm accomplished men would not take enough pride in their job to do the best they can, even if they like another football team. That is ridiculous. You think Gene Stallings threw games while coaching Alabama because his heart beonged to TAM? Or Bear?. Are LSU fans worried Les Miles will throw a game if it helps UM? I believe Mike Slive is an Ivy League grad. Reckon he is trying to sabotage the SEC to make Cornell look good? Jesus, even Haslam, our biggest donor, just bought the Clevland Browns but stated he is a life long Steelers fan. Reckon he is out to fix things for the old gold and black?
