Fire Steve Letarte!

Who wants to bet McGrew and Letarte get switched around at some point this season?

The only thing that needs to get switched on the 88 is the guy behind the wheel.

As far as Gordon, if he did replace Letarte I would hope that he would go after someone bigger than McGrew.

Not that this would happen but I would like to see Letarte get moved back to the shop, move Alan Gustafson to the 24, bring Kenny Francis to the 5 when Kahne arrives and let a fan crew chief for Jr. (since it won't matter anyway).

I can see the the ads now;

"Register online at Hendrick Motorsports and be entered for a chance to crew chief the #88 Amp Energy Chevy piloted by Dale Earnhardt Jr. There are only thirty-six chances to win so register today!"

It would generate enough revenue so the #5 team could have full time sponsorship.

Junior should have signed with RCR, too many big names at Hendrick. Gordon hasn't been the same since Jimmy stole his thunder, partly his fault.

I would be interested in knowing if Jr.'s merchandise sales are worth having him in the car regardless of his results or if secretly Rick Hendrick would prefer to have kept Kyle Busch.

At that time, it was a surprise to me that Kyle left instead of Casey Mears. I thought he would move Casey to Haas and also Jr. was still competitive at DEI when he came over. He should have improved with his equipment but instead he turned in to Kyle Petty.

he's always been a slightly more successful version of Kyle Petty. although Kyle didn't have the legions of mouthbreathers following him like Fale Jr. does.

I have no way of knowing whether Hendrick regrets the Jr. decision, but I'm about 100% positive he isn't upset about losing Busch.

You sure about that? I would think Kyle Busch is one of the more profitable drivers. He wins a lot of races and has a large fanbase.

Rick wouldn't want to take his chances with Kyle destroying the team. He doesn't match up with Jeff or Jimmie at all. Not to mention, he wouldn't get nearly enough attention at Hendrick as he does at JGR.
