That is what we are looking at this weekend. Whenever we dispatch of Vanderbilt the following weekend we will have our first 11-win regular season since 1998. This has been a season to remember and they don’t come around very often so hopefully everyone can enjoy the home stretch. I’m proud as heck of this team and I don’t want it to end. Any other year this would have been good enough to play for the SEC Championship but that’s the beauty of the conference. It’s always loaded and we are about to end the regular with our only loss to the #1 team in the country. I haven’t been this excited for Bowl season in my entire life. Enjoy the ride everyone.

I haven’t had a season of football that I’ve been eager and can only think of football each week in a long long time. This has been so special and I’m old enough and have gone through enough bad seasons to appreciate it, unlike the 90s.

In all of the talk and debate about the CFP, this gets lost rather quickly.
We haven't been good in a long, long time...haven't been this good even longer than that !!!

For some perspective, in 2003 the Department of Homeland Security was formed; the Do Not Call list was started; US and British forces invaded Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction; Saddam Hussein was captured; Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California; car company Tesla is founded; the iPhone did not yet exist...a Nick Saban coached LSU team won the National Title.

That ‘98 11 win regular season is the only one, ever.

For the past 15 years my enthusiasm for college football has waned by the end of September. It is so utterly refreshing to be in the hunt for a national championship again. This season has exceeded all expectations, and the future looks very bright thanks to Danny White, Josh Heupel, and his staff. Go Vols!!!

For everyone who thinks this might just be a one-off year, consider this: Us having so much success in year 2 makes sense. Year 1 was almost a miraculous year in itself. We had a TD wiped off the board for no reason against Ole Miss, and again for Purdue. Those were both just the refs taking away our TD. If the refs had made the right call, we likely finish that year 9-4, with two wins over Top 25 teams.

That’s an incredible first year for a coach, especially after taking over a 3-win program.

So we didn’t just go from 7-6 to probably 11-1 on a fluke, if the refs had done their job last year, then we really only would have increased our win total by 2 this year, assuming we don’t lose one of the next 2.

I love when people do these lists. Makes you really notice how much things have changed in a small amount of time

I'm thinking these type of seasons will be the norm going forward.

Bush did 9/11 and in 2008 made us 5-7.
