Okay, we did first concert. What was your first time seeing a band at a club?

Mine was Candy Cream and the Wet Dream (I believe) at Bundulees above the Pickle U Pub on the Strip.

I was 16 but it was pretty easy to get into clubs on the strip back then (1979/80).

I know it was some band with a chick as lead singer and pretty sure it was the one listed above.

I think my first club show was Southern Culture on the Skids at Lynaughs (Lex). Would have been around 92. Caught some great shows at Lynaughs over the years...Shaver with Eddy, Junior Brown, Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Guy Clark...they lost their booker and were never the same.

Follow for Now or the Viceroys (can't remember which came first) at the Mercury Theater in Knoxville. That is where the Preservation Pub stands now.

I also saw Superdrag there when they had their radio hit.

Muddy Waters at the Shaboo Inn. Long time ago. The Shaboo Inn was located between Willimantic CT and Mansfield CT. Also saw Howlin' Wolf and Bo Diddley there.

I tilted a few at Lynaugh's - most the bar/rest rather than the club.

Prince in a small club in Southeast, Washington, D.C. He was secretly hitting small clubs at one point in the 90s.

Got in line at 3 pm, waited outside in the cold to get in the door at 8 pm, waited cram-packed in club for 3 more hours until Prince took stage after 11 pm. He played until 2 am or so.

If you know the SE part of DC, then you must know how out of place this white country boy looked standing in line to get into that club.

Amazing to see Prince play guitar that close to the stage.

Seen many shows in DC clubs while in school up there.

Beck- 328 Performance Hall.

I miss that place. I saw Vertical Horizon there in 2000, and I was supposed to see 311 there a few years later but something came up. At the VH concert I forgot to wear earplugs and I ended up standing right by an amp. I couldn't hear a thing when I left and even better, I got pulled over for speeding on the way home at about 2:00 AM. I couldn't hear anything the cop said so I just said "I just came from a concert and I can't see a thing, so yeah I was speeding." He kind of laughed and handed me the ticket.

that would be the last time Great White was any good. "Shot In The Dark" is by far their best album, and their best song. Plus it has a nice cover of "Gimme Some Lovin'".
