Some of us had to work today :banghead: unfortunately. I saw replay of Lofton's shot.( A fine shot but not a desperation "miracle shot" as Tim Brando said.) What happened did we struggle or was Wintrop that good? Did we get any inside help? A quick wrapup please.

the first game is always the hardest. now we have a very hard game that we will

Patterson and Wingate did great today. Totalled near 18 rebounds, 27 points, and 6 blocks. Winthrop was good, Lofton went cold in the 2nd half, Watson sat alot of the game in foul trouble.

inside game was awsome. best of the season imo. watson was out almost all the game with foul trouble and that really hurt. basically without him on the floor for 6 minutes in the first half and 13 in the second, we looked confused. winthrop was also very good, but I think if it wasnt for the ticky tack fouls they called on watson, we would have won by 10 or 11.

We played well... the threes didn't rain down like they usually do... Wingate was the player of the game and leading scorer with 15, Patterson and Lofton both added 12.

The interior game was far better than it was during SEC play. If they can keep some momentum, and the threes fall better, like they did during most of SEC play... LOOK OUT!

Jajuan Smith had a shot that was as impressive as Chris'. It was VERY deep, with the shot clock running out, he kissed it off the glass. :D

I think Winthrop came just as ready to play as us and wanted the game as bad as us. Wingate and Patterson played exceptionally well today. Lofton didn't have too many points, but saved the game for us. I wasn't wanting an overtime, not sure how we would have done in that.

Major probably played his best game as a vol, had 15 pts.

Patterson played great early but got into foul trouble in the 2nd half.

Watson, got in serious foul trouble and sat on the bench most of the 2nd half.

Smith was off, coach commented he needs to learn to do then shoot when in the game.

Howell came on in relief of watson and only committed one turnover.

Lofton only had one fg the 2nd half-the game winner with .40 seconds left.

Asumnu came in and got some key rebounds and played good D, did not shoot well though.

Bradshaw's wrist is really bothering him, threw up an air ball at the charity stripe.

Stanley really helped out there in the second half. His 2 steals and the rebounds were key..

The first steal had a shaky ending but both were HUGE!

They sure were. I thought we were going to go on a little run, but Winthrop was tough, they answered us that entire game. It was exhausting. The timeouts took forever too.

Still, a great finish to our first round tournament game. It was worth all the agony. :D

Howell didnt help us but he didnt hurt us either, for the amount of time he played he did a good job.

Yep, he took care of the ball and didn't do anything stupid. That's all you can ask from him this year.
