Anybody seen The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky? Had kind of a similar time changing but characters remain the same thing going on. I thought the novel version of cloud atlas was from the pov of completely different characters, not the same ones over different time periods? I'm sure that was the Hollywoodization of the novel - force a love story plot where none existed before. And does anyone else think Tom Hanks looks like one of the dudes from the dick in a box video with those sideburns and earrings? I have a lot of questions....

Novel was excellent. Think the movie will tie the stories together better and might actually be more impressive than the book.

Yeah, the end sputtered. Had some really good moments where several of the stories would would be firing on all cylinders, but it was more or less a cluster the way it was put together. It was a bold attempt, but some books just weren't meant to be movies.
