Do you subscribe to insidetennessee.com/Rocky Top News magazine? It&#39;s good. It&#39;s 100 bucks per year,and I think it&#39;s worth it. They don&#39;t do a very good job of supplying post game stats though.

One thing&#39;s for sure. We have a ton of RB and WR prospects this year. Time to get serious with OL, DL and LB prospects.

According to scout UT is on the short list for a few of big name recruits, RB Armondo Allen 5-10/ 185/ 4.35, CB Eric Berry 6-0/194/4.35, LB Chris Donald 6-3/220/4.50,LB Josh Bynes 6-3,220,4.65. Does anyone know how close we may be to getting these guys? I would absolutely love to have these four guys. These were just a few of the top 100 that had UT on their list. It&#39;s kind of surprising that many players of that caliber have UT so high after last years debacle.

Donald is a lock. Berry is a good shot. The other 2 aren&#39;t really that high on our board. It&#39;d be great to land Berry, Tate, Donald, and Smith along with Joe Chiasson and a few others.

It would also be nice to land Marvin Austin or Joseph Barksdale. Austin is 6&#39;3" 300 and ran a 4.68 40 at a Nike Combine.

I say we land the following big name recruits soon (and these are 4 big time players):

LB Donald
S Smith
QB Chiasson
ATH Berry


Then the next step in putting together a MONSTER class will be convincing Austin and Barksdale to come together and be the next Henderson/Haynsworth combo.

If we got those six commits along with the verbals we already have we would be off to an amazing start. And, other than the DL&#39;s I think its a pretty safe bet we pick up those commits. The DL&#39;s are a possibility, but much more in doubt than those other 4 names.

That would be a heck of a start to a potential top 5 recruiting class with a lot of speed.

Notre Dame has been evaluating him and offered him. He has already said he plans on committing by fall so he can concentrate on football. He plans to visit Ole Miss and commit after that. I don&#39;t know if hes changed his mind since the ND offer but I doubt it. He is all orange.

Just some tidbits via rivals.com:

Golden Tate DOES have UTK has a school of interest. He actually said that he liked that Tennessee and Vanderbilt are home state teams and that both of those coaching staffs have been very good to him. In fact, he said that out of the schools that have offered his Top 5 are Tennessee, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Auburn, and Alabama. He said that the schools that he is interested in that have not offered are Miami, Florida State, and Nortre Dame.

The AMP videos are going into who some of the 5-star recruits will be next year. Here is a list of players that UTK is heavily invovled with that are projected as likely 5-stars:

Chris Donald (LB)
Eric Berry (at CB/ATH) *writer said he has highest ceiling of any DB in the country
Marvin Austin (DL)
Joseph Barksdale (DL)

I know you have followed college recruiting to know that that is certainly not true. Just like Chris Donald is a lock for UTK, but then again is not. There are no locks. Even if the kid verbals tomorrow he is still not a lock. And DEFINATELY being at this stage in the recruitment and having not verbal he is still very much a possibility for every team in the race.

Just read some news that is encouraging. There is a big name QB that I didn&#39;t even know we were in contention for. A very impressive QB prospect that looks like a great athlete and put up amazing numbers named Jarrett Lee (from Texas) said his Top 5 are: LSU, Tennessee, Arizona, Nebraska, and Texas A&M.

The likely QB we will get is Joe Chaisson from Texas. We are his leaders big and he is visiting this weekend. He said he wants to commit early as well.
