What an exciting weekend! Sure hope there’s a huge crowd, a Tennessee victory, and five impressed young women by the time the weeken is over. :D

2021 Karoline Striplin (6-2 forward, Hartford, Ala.)
2021 Sara Puckett (6-2 forward, Muscle Shoals, Ala.)
2021 Kaiya Wynn ((5-10 guard, Nashville)
2022 Karly Weathers (5-10 guard, Loretto, Tenn.)
2023 Cori Allen (5-10 guard, Nashville — daughter of former Vol bballer Corey Allen)

I've watched Wynn play. Very athletic.

Is Weathers the daughter of Stormy Weathers....the MLB pitcher from Loretto?

Karly Weathers would be a good get. Everyone in her family is/was an elite athlete.

Interesting that 3 of the visitors are AAU teammates, Karly, Sara, and Karoline

Sign them all!

Question: Under Holly, I noticed we usually just dressed 10 players. Looks like we are up to 12, or so, this year.

Why don't we have 15, or whatever max number is?

While carrying 15 would provide security from injuries, there are other factors to consider.
Playing time - Most players aren't willing to sit on the bench for most of if not their entire career.
Cohesive practices - It's much more difficult running effective practices for 15 then it is for 10.
Resulting in less time to work on specific aspects of play with individual players.

I looked up the scholly numbers; both men and women can have 13.

I understand your answers.

Why do our men consistently have 15 (13 on scholly and two walk-on's)?

how can a school give out 11.7 schollies? Is that like partials or something?

from the link above
Baseball 11.7
Basketball (M) 13
Basketball (W) 13

Yes, many of the smaller sports give out 1/3 and 1/2 scholly's

obviously positive news that interest in December has prospects visiting. I would assume informal visits this early although we have heard that one or more have received offers. Two are as their junior season opens in the top 50 or ESPN list.

My sincere apologies to Maria Cornelius at The SUmmiTT for unthinkingly posting this info I picked up from that board. I’ve posted teaser snippets in the past with the link to her actual story — to give full credit and get her some hits. But I was in such a hurry this morning and excitedly posting this great news when I REALLY needed to be at work already, that I totally zoned out and ended up not doing right by her.

I’m not really an @-hole. But it sure looked that way today.

It is so enjoyable to be back watching Lady Vols basketball. Now they can even throw the ball to each other without it being intercepted. Wow...........progress already !!!!!!

Could you post the link to the story now? I looked, but could not find it. Thanks. 🙂
