Five star glue guys

Really hope Phillips stays.

The talent is there but he could definitely use another year in college.
If he leaves, then the NBA process makes no sense. He’s so far from ready. Keon Johnson and Springer are other great examples. Those guys are going to fade into obscurity. If they’d come back? Who knows.

Johnson and Springer are both going to make eight figures before they hit 25 years old. I think they will be okay.

I didn't know you were an NBA scout.

Shows bad judgment on how NBA is evaluating these guys. No way they deserve that kind of draft spot. In turn, the NBA is hurting the college game.

Phillips could become the go to guy for a bucket for next season's team if he stays.

I still think he can be the guy in March if he will be more aggressive. He’s afraid to make a mistake and when he does, he stops attacking. He’s always around the glass for a rebound and he has a nice midrange jump shot.

IMO he could greatly benefit from another year (or 2). To add strength but more importantly to add confidence. To me it’s still much easier to build up your confidence collegiately that it is in the d-league. Unfortunately, it seems to be looked at as a slight if you aren’t a 1 and done guy now.

I’m still shocked Keon was a one and done, he was a turnover machine. Happy that’s he’s make a bunch of $ but it would have been fun to see him develop more at Tennessee before fading into obscurity.

The NBA needs to cut the rule forcing guys to go to be removed from high school for a year before being eligible to enter the draft. That would help the college game as much as anything imo.

I really hope Phillips doers what is best for him. I strongly believe he is still has some basis work to do before he is ready to enter the pros. He needs to get stronger, work on his handle and improve his defense. He has a lot of talent, but needs the benefit from what Barnes can teach. This would also improve his understanding of the game and his confidence. He would greatly benefit greatly if he decides to come back next year.
