Coach Golesh offered me when he was at UCF, so there was already a little bond built there," said Baxter, who's ranked by 247Sports as the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 3 running back in the 2023 class and the No. 10 sophomore from Florida.
While Baxter said he "didn’t really talk to" Heupel's staff at UCF on a regular basis, he said he's familiar with Heupel and Golesh, and he has heard good things about Tennessee's program.
"They're building something new, and they have a very good atmosphere," said Baxter, who has received offers from more than a dozen schools.
