“It was a great time to be there,” said Taylor, who’s ranked by 247Sports as the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 4 safety in the 2025 class. “It was a great time for me to get around the coaches again and see how they work, and just to see what’s going on with them, as well.
“For me, it was just a matter of spending more time with the coaches. You’re going to be with the coaches for four years, so you might as well get to know them. It was more like me talking individually to the coaches, getting to know them better, getting to know the defense a little bit better or getting to know this position a little bit better.”
“The biggest thing for me is, even though none of the students were there or (not) a lot of people were there, it’s just the environment,” he said. “Tennessee, Knoxville in general, is such a nice area to be around. It’s a small city, but it has a big presence, if that makes sense.”
“It’s pretty high on my list. … It’s just good people to be around,” he said. “I’m really big on what defense they run and what they’re going to do, so I know their offense will produce. They have probably one of the greatest minds right now in college football for offense.
“I was with Coach ‘Nez a lot during the time. … (Robinson is) the new assistant defensive back coach and, like, the whole time I was with him, so that was really good, a good experience,” Taylor said. “It was my first time really talking to him. He came from the Saints originally, and then he went to Tennessee. We were chopping it up about the whole time, so that was really good.”
callahan“I would say (they like that I am) smart. They can see my IQ, I guess, in-game. They call it their, like, nickel or their Star, so that would be what they think I would come in and try out for.”
