A spring jamboree Thursday in Florida gave a Tennessee assistant coach a chance to see a couple of the Vols’ targets in the 2020 class in action.
Derrick Ansley, Tennessee’s first-year defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach, traveled to Kathleen High School in Lakeland, Fla., to attend a three-team jamboree Thursday night, 247Sports’ Luke Stampini reported.
Stampini reported that Ansley also traveled Thursday to Lake Wales (Fla.) High School to check on four-star Florida defensive line commitment
Gervon Dexter, another top-100 prospect.
The 6-foot-6, 273-pound Dexter, who has been committed to Florida for more than six months, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 37 overall prospect and No. 3 defensive tackle in the 2020 class.
Dexter also is ranked the No. 72 overall prospect and No. 7 defensive tackle in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite for the 2020 class.
