BATON ROUGE – Due to Hurricane Rita and the uncertainty of the weather here on Saturday, ESPN's College GameDay has opted for another location for its show this weekend, producer Michael Fountain said on Wednesday night.

Fountain said this decision has no bearing on ESPN's telecast of the LSU-Tennessee football game, which is still scheduled to be broadcast to a national audience starting at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Fountain said College GameDay will instead go to the Virginia Tech-Georgia Tech game in Blacksburg, Va.

"We are very disappointed about not coming to Baton Rouge and Tiger Stadium this weekend," Fountain said. "With the uncertainty of the weather, we just couldn't take a chance of not being able to have a show.

"We've looked at the LSU schedule and we are exploring the possibility of coming back to Baton Rouge on Oct. 15 for the Florida game."
