I wish that society would stop pretending that these rules are about safety. An offensive player can lower their head with absolute impunity. Has nothing to do with anything other than the ILLUSION of safety.

No one knows what the hell the rule should be. There are 253 subsections, exceptions, and general chicanery depending on wind direction and a headless chicken running around.

I actually think it's been called correctly in this game the way I understand the rule.

I just can't stand the rule.

The vast majority of times it's a defender trying to get to the ball and make a play. I think the rule should only be applied to a safety the comes over and lays out a WR when the ball is thrown 10 feet over everyone's head.

But, I just think at the speed the game is played it is ridiculous for players to not be guilty from time to time.

and to be ejected is criminal
