Saw this one pop up earlier and was a bit shocked.

Do any of our Gator visitors know anything about this "collective"? I'm assuming this one is a smaller NIL thing or even a national deal and not the big dog one for Florida?

Pretty sad actually-instead of an NIL deal sounds more like a loan with a VERY high interest rate.

Don't know anything about it and I don't see why there'd be a clause in future earnings. But one assumes he had an agent or counsel at the time so it may be enforceable.

Either way, I am convinced of two things. First, we will see these sorts of NIL controversies with increasing regularity. Second, it will make me even more jaded as a fan.

I always knew it was about the money. But fooled myself on occasion that there was genuine enthusiasm for the team by the players.

No more.

I don’t believe this is a “collective” but a group of investors that front/invest in an athlete with their return being a part of their future earnings. I think baseball prospects and golfer do this all the time

It can’t be both?

I have to wonder about the boosters too.
