I hope that FSU continues to only get better and better. Meanwhile, it wouldn't hurt if Miami arrived to the party as well. I think Florida's days of completely controlling the state's best talent are done.
Funny how this happens. If UT was in the same situation there would be a call for calm and patience. I'm on record with my thoughts about Muschamp, but one recruiting class outside the top 10 isn't going to cripple the program.FSU's resurgence certainly puts a dent in it. And Miami will always pull at least some talent from that area. And, Florida just lost one of its recruiting heads to Ohio State.
We definitely have issues. It will be interesting to see how Muschamp deals with these issues as, if things aren't shored up quickly, we could have some serious problems.

There will be a steep learning curve for Muschamp, just as there was/is for Dooley. It will be interesting to see if he is smart enough to handle it.
Cripple? No. But certainly in college football success breeds success. The best players want to be at the winning programs because they believe, sometimes correctly, that it increases the odds that they will play in the NFL.
Florida had a remarkable string of success, followed by some uncertainty, and then Meyer leaving on the heels of a very disappointing season. If we win the SECe next year, imo all is right with the world and we don't skip a beat.
But finish a weak second again and yuck.

Do you all think that Florida state's success in recruiting is crippling Florida, or is it the coaching change/bad year?
since 1980.....the top 5 winningest programs in the country are.....
1. nebraska
2. miami, fl
3. ohio state
4. florida
5. florida state
there is enough talent in the state to go around. florida was not responsible for fsu or miami being down and can't prevent them from coming back.
if florida had a recruiting class of 25, 8 would come from out of state. even if you got every in-state kid you wanted, there is more than enough talent to fuel a national player.
ucf and usf are no slouches either.

On a 1-10 scale, can you give me your grade on Dooley, on his first year. And did he meet, or exceed your expectation? TIA.
Anyone feel free to chime in
