This was posted in the Chattanooga Sports today and thought it would be an interesting comparison.

Danny Wuerffel 1993-1996 SEC titles: 4

Chris Leak 2003-current SEC titles: 0

For starters, UF has 2 more SEC titles than UT during that comparison period. And the UF QB's throw alot of TD's.

I am not sure what this thread is about. My assumption is that it is supposed to be some sort of slam on UF, or much more likely, on Chris Leak.

Assuming that to be the case, I would respond simply by pointing out that there are like, ummm, I don't know, about maybe 45 other players on a team each game that play a role in the outcome?

Sheesz.

Sheesz... very defensive. I just thought the comparison of quarterbacks was a neat thing to look at. It obvious after having watched Tennessee in 2005 and Georgia in 2006 that quarterback play is more influential on the outcome of a game than probably any other position. The QB certainly gets more touches than just about anybody else except the center.

But yes, the article in the newspaper was about how this upcoming SECCG will determine Leak's legacy at Florida.

If that is the case, the thread is at least 1 week premature.

Although the verdict on Tebow is still out as to whether he can lead the team every down in every game, Leak may be a hard guy to replace. He is a 4 year starter who has completed 60 percent of his passes, thrown for 86 touchdowns and 34 picks (16-11 as a frosh, or the numbers would be even better,) and has a QB rating of over 150.

I don't like the way the whole recruiting battle was handled, and I have a natural aversion to defending the guy taking snaps for the Gators, but Leak has been a good quarterback.
