Florida Seeded 5th in NCAA?

They lost @ KY and vs UT. Probably should have gone to 17-19 in polls which would make them a 4 seed.

Where ever they are seeded they'll be making an early exit. Gators lack heart and sound defense.

OP, there are 4 of each seed so a 5-seed corresponds to a rank of 17-20. That sounds about right. Many would say that's actually a little too low and they deserve a 4-seed.

At #7 where they were when we beat them, they'd be slated for a 2-3 seed.

I'm guessing from reading the OP that he forgot to account for the fact that seeding has 4 of each seed per bracket, so your seed is a much lower number than your rank.

5-seed seems appropriate for now but could probably go as high as 2-3 depending on how they close out the year and SEC tourney. If they win out and then make it to the SEC finals, they'd certainly deserve to be called one of the 10 best teams in America.

Did you miss the game against Rutgers?

Right. And Marquette (#2 in Big East @ 10-3) lost to Vandy by 20.

Notre Dame (#3 in Big East @ 10-3) lost to Georgia)

So obviously those 2 teams would struggle in the SEC....

Your point being?

The league is vastly overrated outside of Syracuse and Georgetown.

The point is, the way Florida plays on the road, losing to UT and Rutgers, they'd struggle in the Big East which while overrated, is still slighty tougher than the SEC.

Dude, Rutgers is 12-14. Florida's best win is, who, Florida St? A mediocre Vandy team?

Florida as a 5 makes sense. I kind of LOL @ the obvious UT jealousy and of course 'canes-fan irrational bashing.

What you have to remember is that no one is saying UF has much of a chance to advance far. Maybe a Sweet 16 spot if they draw lucky and play their best. But quickly out at that point. Field is pretty weak after the top 5-6 teams, anyway.

Well, the bit about the top 5-6 teams is pretty accurate. The 3 seeds will resemble 6-8 seeds a lot this year.

Gonna be chalk on the top lines, I think.

The games not featuring a top 2 seed are freakin' bedlam.

Could make for the best 1st and 2nd round games in a LONG time. That's my favorite weekend of the big dance anyway. I love me some bedlam.

Anybody watch the West VA-Pitt game last night? Neither of those teams is any good or going very far.

But they would have pounded and ground the gators into dog meat.
