Florida vs SoCar

I think Florida will beat South Carolina. Carolina is probably due for a letdown after the UGA win.

When Bama went to Columbia there were things to be impressed about. The OC did a nice job in bring ing a Muschamp team into modern warfare. That couldn't have been easy. They take what the defense keeps giving and had a decent opportunistic D. Maybe his best. But Helinski needs to be OK. They want to call it a sprained knee at this point and have him as questionable. Probably the same thing that Mullen has said about his 2 defensive ends with bad ankles.

Feels like a close game if all the moving parts are there. Both teams had to get sky-high last week so this game should be very interesting to call. Florida is the better talent and Columbia is where they play. So, Gators in a tough game.

I’m embarrassed it took an injury to Franks to see what we had in Trask.
That's what is funny to me. Mullen gets a lot of praise for having a backup ready to play, and I get it I guess. But he gets no criticism that the backup is way better.
Why hasn't Trask been playing the last 2 years? He seems a much better option than Franks to me.

I say Florida beats Georgia. I'm actually hoping so.

Best case scenario for me would be:
  • GA beat FLA.
  • USC beats FLA
  • LSU beats Bama.
  • LSU destroys GA in the SEC championship game and goes undefeated into the playoffs.
  • OK, Ohio State, and Clemson remain undefeated.
  • Tenn becomes bowl eligible.

That would mean:

  • GA is cemented as a perennial underachiever with two losses (and a bonus third loss if they lose the bowl game), we can sell in recruiting that GA is stagnant and we are on a upswing.
  • Bama is left out of the playoffs.
  • FLA doesn't win the east.

Trask had really bad luck with injuries the past two years. After Franks stunk it up against Missouri last year, Trask came in and played very well.

Trask was slated to start the next game, then broke his foot in practice.

May shock some of you here, but this game worries the hell out of me.

Suddenly I’m unsure of UF’s defense because I’m unsure of the status of Zuniga and Greenard. Florida isn’t alone here, everyone has injuries right now, but removing those two out of the pass rush equation significantly downgrades UF’s defense. And it’s not just the pass rush, both of those players are beasts against the run. The good news for UF is, SC shouldn’t be able to make Florida pay like LSU did.

I do like UF’s offense coming into this game. Trask seems to have a pretty hot hand and the o-line seems to be getting a little better.

I like UF but not easy.

A few things to factor in. Number one, Franks might be the best looking practice QB in the history of QB’s. He stands back there like a QB God and throws lasers all over the field. It’s hard for Trask or Drew Brees to look better in a practice setting than Feleipe Franks. Combine that with the fact that Franks had accumulated a ton of experience playing big time games in the SEC and there just wasn’t much for any coach to look at and say “hmm, yeah, ima go with the guy who hasn’t started since Junior High” over a guy who looks all-world in practice and who has played multiple times in nearly every SEC venue. And as others have pointed out, Trask had two of the most ill-timed injuries possible, both coming when he was neck and neck with Franks in QB battles in different years. And those injures are what allowed Franks to rack up all that SEC playing experience while Trask sat.

The real story is, Mullen has three really competent, ready to play QB’s. I’m 100% confident Emory Jones can go out and run the complete Florida offense and look great doing it. Having 3 guys ready shows Mullen really has this coaching QB’s thing down.

Trask played well in BR.
UFs D got roughed up by a very good LSU offense.

If UF doesnt turn it over like UGA did they ll pull away in the second half. I'd be surprised if Hilinski plays and WM is playing the prep game.

I love to hate FLA on game day, but I like Dan Mullen as a coach. I can’t stand that arrogant @$$ Muschump. Fla already drilled us, hope they slap SCar around. Tenderize them a little bit for us when they come to Knoxville cause we need that win in the worst way.

Nope, it will be much closer.
you can still score. Even With your guys short handed they can’t.
It will be a game into the 3rd but not in the 4th.

But as I’ve said. I’m not good at picking the games but that’s usually because I haven’t watched enough to know. This time I’ve watched both more than once.

We’ll be playing in a monsoon, and we can’t run the ball.

This game will be close.

going to guess 22 - 16 uf

I'm going to predict that one non offensive score happens in the game and also that at least one incredibly stupid thing happens during the game
