Florida vs SoCar

Never thought I'd say this again, but good for Muschamp.

If there is a way for a head coach to get ejected in football, he should try it

For a player it's two sportsmen like conduct penalties. No reason it should be the same for a coach.

I hope we don't have this crew next week, cause they owe SC. Not say the would've won but the refs have given the game to Florida.

after all the talk this game will get it wont matter what crew works it they will be gun shy about calling anything on uscjr

I have zero love for either of the teams, but the refs screwed USCe, flat out changed the momentum of the game with their highly subjective calling of penalties.
Agree. And nobody should think that it wasn’t by design. Just no possible way all those blatant calls by multiple referees get called if it’s not by design.
That said, glad SCar lost, would’ve been much tougher for us to deal with if they come to Neyland next week win back to back wins vs Georgia and Florida, would’ve had too much positive momentum imo. Now, perhaps we get a bit of a deflated SCar team that over looks a 2-win Tennessee.

We’ll be playing in a monsoon, and we can’t run the ball.

This game will be close.

Weird season running the ball. I don’t disagree with the idea that we aren’t running very well, but I can’t remember a season with more homerun runs at critical moments in games; Hammond, Perine, Pierce all 70+ yard TD runs when the game was in doubt.

Odd. But 7-1 ain’t odd.

Honest to God. So now you grab a hold of the back of the opposing player’s jersey and tug on it for 60 yards right out in the open, right in front of the referee, on camera, shielding the ball carrier from the defender? And Greg McElroy will praise you for the job you just did, while holding the guy right in front of the play? Bizarre
Yeah that what a block comment. I was like did he not see what we saw lol.

This is one of the rare times that I was cheering for Florida and it was for that very reason... but yeah, the calls and no calls went in Florida's direction today. They got some breaks.

The hilarious thing to Florida fans, ESPN spends all that time analyzing and dissecting UF’s pick play TD to Pitts, and it was an illegal pick, but SC does the EXACT same thing on its last TD, just as egregious, yet peanuts from the announcers, not one word about it.

The refs were horrible both ways. At least 3 missed PI’s on Jefferson and Pitts, a missed facemask and of course crap spots and missed holds all day long.

Opposing fans complaining that refs are favoring Florida. Man, maybe we are back. That’s so 1990’s and mid 2000’s.

I’m having a moment of nostalgia.

I do not believe the refs were one sided. Just bad. A horrible spot gives SoCar a 1st down that leads to points. A missed false start on a long TD run for Florida........
Actually there’s too much to point out. Both fan bases have a legitimate complaint

I got a lot of gator likes........I feel like I just ran an int the wrong way.

You can't equate a first down that shouldn't have been, with two touchdowns that shouldn't have been. The false start should have negated one touchdown before the play even began and that pick play was obvious... and it led to another touchdown. The consequences of the missed calls were not equal at all.

which only speaks to the ability of the refs and not their motivation

We could go all day with this. Re-watch it with a neutral perspective. Big PI’s not called on Van Jefferson and Pitts, both were broken tackles away from possibly scoring. Copeland literally gets punched in the face on a play. Bad facemask on a UF RB missed which would have kept a drive alive. No pick called on SC’s last TD which was just as obvious as UF’s. Horrible spots on several plays against UF. 38-27, period.

The sooner you admit SEC refs favor new money programs like Florida over historic blue bloods like Tennessee, the sooner we can all move on.
