Florida vs SoCar

The sooner you admit SEC refs favor new money programs like Florida over historic blue bloods like Tennessee, the sooner we can all move on.
I don't recite dumb narratives such as that, but something was off with the officiating in that game today. It was worse than what is normal. What I observed was the missed calls disproportionately favored Florida. And because we play South Carolina next week, I was (albeit casually) for the Gators.

Again, you watch with that anti-UF bias. No exaggeration, it was literally the worst officiated game against Florida I’ve seen in a long while during the first half. Granted, they got equally crappy in the second half, but Florida will be sending in several plays to the SEC for review.

Just switched back from ACCN, because they wouldn’t allow me to enjoy Willie Taggart’s press conference.

I turned back in time to see Bama score.

What happened?

Phantom holding call on a Tn touchdown (or close) turns it into a FG.

Then a very touchy unsportsmanlike that erases a 3rd down stop.
Even the announcers were saying that’s not a foul.

I am tired of hearing McElroy claim it is a "clear cut OPI" about the touch down to Pitts and the block made by Josh Hammond, and everyone starting an echo chamber like it is a legitimate. Thing. The play was good and the touchdown was legal.

NCAA Rule 7 – Snapping and Passing the Ball – Page 3 – Ruletool

It is not offensive pass interference (A.R. 7-3-8:IV, V, X, XV and XVI):

"When, after the snap, a Team A ineligible player immediately charges and contacts an opponent at a point not more than one yard beyond the neutral zone and maintains the contact for no more than three yards beyond the neutral zone. "

Hammond was clearly blocking within 1 yard of the neutral zone. (not the black line which is the offensive line of scrimmage, it is the 5 yard line). He also can keep blocking for upto three yards after contact.

Now you can argue about an inch here or an inch there, but it is not "clear cut OPI" like McElroy kept saying, and nothing on Video review is sufficient to overturn it.

IMO the only mistake that really went the Gator's way is the missed false start on Pierce's touchdown. Now I can point to a few PI that SC has committed that were not called that cost the gators first downs and stopped important drives. Either way SC pretending like officiating lost them the game are wrong.
