Yep, Florida won the title this past Saturday. They proved to be just as physical as Alabama but with speed. This is just a victory lap. If Harvin is back, they win by 21.

Regardless of difficulty level, OU can certainly win his game. Turnovers will play heavily in the outcome.

I like UF in this game, but I'm not ready to crown them yet. Now if you wanna crown them, then crown their ass!

explain to me how florida's defense will stop oklahoma. ok now name a half decent offense that has florida played this year. the question being: is florida's defense ranked so high just because the offenses in the SEC suck?

If Defense wins championships:

(year-team-defensive ranking)
2007-LSU 3
2006-Florida 6
2005-Texas 10
2004-USC 14
2003-LSU 1
2002-OSU 22
2001-Miami 6
2000-Oklahoma 8
1999-FSU 16
1998-Tennessee 11

...this year:

2008-Oklahoma 65
2008-Florida 9

Should OK pull this off, it'd be the lowest ranked defensive Champion in the history of the BCS!
OU will not score at will. Score, yes! BUT NOT score at will. We will control the ball on Offense.

I take it that you have never watched Oklahoma play. I think Florida will win but it wont be easy.

You are tempting a non betting man to turn to it. I'd take OU and 21 points in a heartbeat. I think OU wins the game out right, but I think it will be a high scoring, close game.

Florida will probably win, but it's crazy to act as though the game is a mere formality.

Well, I was just exagerating. But I can't see how a team like Florida (who is as physical as Alabama) lose. Florida can just do to Oklahoma what Alabama tried to do to them.

I cannot understand how anyone can reasonably expect to predict the outcome of this game. There is no valid basis for comparing the Big 12 to the SEC this year and you cannot tell whether OU's offense is simply so good that it can overcome a very good Florida defense, whether Florida's defense is in fact not hat good because the SEC offenses are so weak this year, whether Florida's offense is in fact going to have a field day since OU's defense has been lit up by everyone, too, or exactly what.

I guess we will know a little more when the other Big 12 teams play their games, but really not that much.

FL is the only SEC team that has an offense capable of keeping pace with OU.

and FL's defense is better than any OU has faced all year.

early nod goes to the Gators. i think it will be lower scoring than some might expect......

don't forget special teams either........

for now......i'll say FL 40 OU 31

That's rational.

I would say that the Offenses will be roughly equal in points (both at 30+) but UF will win on ST.

I know I like the team that has displayed the best defense. Thus far, that has been UF.

Everyone has mentioned the O's and D's..UF has a nice advantage on special teams as well..i expect a big play here that could change this game.

If it's a sloppy game with lots of turnovers, it's anybody's game. If it's a relatively mistake free football game, UF wins. It won't be another Big 10 beat down, but UF should handle OU with all outside factors being equal.

We have done a great job with minimizing turnovers this year. Hope we continue that in the bowl game because it's imperative.
