I thought I would stir the pot a little with Pruitt. Jeremy was on track to rebuild the Tennessee program with solid recruiting. His ability to lead an SEC program long term is doubtful but he was recruiting well. Heupel is 1000 times better overall and knows what he is trying to do - and has developed the talent he inherited. Vols were sure lucky that Hooker was brought in and we have to give Pruitt's staff credit for that. It will be interesting to see how the 2023 draft Vols do in the NFL. Heupel's recruiting will only improve if his guys have NFL success and NFL scouts will be hanging out in Knoxville as they did in the 1990s.
