I have caught a few episodes of this series and I find it very enjoyable.

They go to different cities and explore the musical influences of each city's music scene.

I have seen the ones on Chicago, Nashville, LA and most of the Austin one.

Each show culminates with a Foo Fighters song they wrote inspired by each city. The lyrics always incorporate references that they highlight in the show.

Very interesting show. I highly recommend it.

I'm a few behind but have them on my DVR. I like them, some interesting info that you get from each of the cities.

The ones I've seen so far, all the songs are actually really good. Feast and Famine is probably my favorite so far, one of the more... out there ideas HBO has had in a while, following a band as they record music, on top of that band recording a different song in each city with different styles.

I don't really like Foo Fighters, I like the idea of Foo Fighters. They are awesome dudes and will melt your face off live. The documentary about doing that album the old fashioned way was awesome.

I'll have to check this show out.

I get what you are saying. I think you don't really have to be a huge fan of the band to enjoy this series. Some really interesting music history from each city.

I love the Foo Fighters and have been getting warmed up to the new cd this past week. I had heard about the HBO show but had no interest in watching. That is until I read this thread and realized the songs were connected to the people and areas they visited in the show.

With that in mind, I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. Especially, how the songs are totally based on the interviews and areas on the show. Really neat and it has made me enjoy the new songs even more.

I can't hear the songs now without thinking of Buddy Guy or Cheap Trick or that ten year old guitar player in that punk band. I watched all the episodes in one day.

Thanks for the thread.

Been a Foo fan for nearly 20 years and finally got tickets to see them live. Drove to Nashville bright and early yesterday morning, waited in line a few hours but got my tickets.

Oh yeah, Sonic Highways is a great series.

Not a big Foo Fighters fan, but if you truly love music you'll love this show. Top shelf.
