What's bothering me is the media referring to the game as a "Season saving victory." The 1 loss number 6 team in the country comes to unranked Tennessee and basically gets all they can handle. UGA has to go to overtime to win by a field goal. If Georgia doesn't drop in the polls then something is wrong. As far as I am concerned, Tennessee just took away UGA's national title run this year. I know, a W is still a W, but we all know that there are times when style points do count. Plus, their injured skill players are really mounting up. (Best wishes for speedy recoveries for all of those players.) The Bulldogs still have the SEC title and a pretty good bowl game to play for, but the crystal football should be off the table. No moral victories, but that should be something to be proud about, Volnation. Jmo. Go Vols!

I have to disagree. If style points counted, no way we win the 1998 NC. (Arky, 'Cuse, FL)

True, but we still haven't beaten a ranked team and in a year, people will forget how this game ended unless ur a Georgia fan. It was an unfortunate ending, nothing more. It was the first time I had been excited for 4 quarters in at least 5 years.

Arkansas was undefeated and #9 in the bcs, Fla was #2, and Syracuse was defending big east champs and top 20. I believe Syracuse played in a bcs bowl that year too.

Point of view I guess. I may be wrong, but tell me "we" -the UT fans- didn't look at last weeks 4th quarter win in the endzone over a Sunbelt nobody team like USA as a pretty sad win that did nothing for our teams credibility with the sports media or anyone else. And I would point out that today's loss -that's right, loss- will probably do more for UT in the realms of public opinion, sports media's opinion, and with the recruits than last weeks anemic win. If my logic holds up then UGA's win today should see them drop in rankings next week. If that happens well then... there ya go. If not, well we all know the systems flawed anyway and it's only because it was UT because everyone hates us.

I would agree with you, but this game wasn't a fluke. This team is getting better week by week. When we beat USCe, that should solidify this game.

If we can beat USCe in 2 weeks I will 100% agree with you and I think so will a lot of others. As for now, all of the post games wrap up media talk has completely snubbed UT and is painting UGA as a top 5 team that "simply wins". Whatever the reality of where UGA deserves to be ranked, what's getting under my skin is that I have yet to see any positive talk about UT coming out of this and it really is starting to feel like a media spin job. (Sorry for the tin foil hat over here.)

Anyway. It's whatever. A loss still sucks, but those UT coaches and players deserve nothing except respect. And USCe better be on notice after this game to be ready.
