Some of these Kids do not get it.

Looking back over the years, GA continues to get the recruits and individual athletes but for some reason cannot get beyond a 2 or 4 losses a season. Exception one year one loss.

I maybe missing something but they have recruited top talent and cannot put it together as a team. Stafford and Moreno were good but are not NFLers yet.

Hines Ward and Champ Baily are excellent.

The are stuck in the mud or on ice and cannot go beyond their capability because of coaching. It is sad to see players there of great talent with no concept of the fact that the coaching staff can recruit and pray but evidently cannot coach.

Going after Gardner was a great tactical move and would have worked early or late but it was timing IMO.

Tennessee will answer the call. We got into a slump and were in the slump that Georgia was in Recruiting and no Coaching. Smoke and mirrors. It has changed because of Kiffin and staff. Proven coaching meshed together. Key to Organization Effectiveness and Maximum Proficiency. Knowing what you need getting what you want and coaching for success. Raising Standards and setting goals. Richt does it in tongue only but is not capable of implementing it on the field.

GA seems to create its demise by recruiting unneeded players and will be stuck with a bench that will be full of players capable of starting on most of the SEC Teams.

FL has lost it grip and stronghold because of the above.
CUM can do more with less because of the gimmicks he pulls. If FL has to put someone besides T Bone behind Center they will lose a few. Not saying the Backup is not talented but this is the SEC and experience does matter.

The rest is the untold story but I do believe that GA has Recruited well enough to win a NC in the past four years but will not because of Coaching. All talk and prayer and no Walk just a Pecan Roll.

LSU had to back door its NC with 2 losses and Miles gambling ways.

USC will always be USCe a lost puppy with a one time great coach. Holtz and Super Steve. Good enough in a great year to finish 3rd in the SEC East.

Alabama is the FSU of the SEC. The more they win the more they cheated to get there. Old habits, Old Habits.

Auburn may have to resort to a combination of the above to win another title. First was TT going there and is smoking gun mentality. Second will be to follow Alabama.

Houston Nutt has never gotten over the hump nor will the guy at Arkansas that replaced him. True Pretenders but very exciting at moments. Kinda like a Strip tease act. Let me recruit 37 players to show you how good we are and call recruiting a success. If that is not Smoking Mirrors what is.

We are on the right track at UT steady as it goes and consistentcy and the true test starts in Fall and will be seen at the end of 2011 recruiting season.

About Georgia, I'm not sure they are gonna have a better chance than they did last year. Just terrible timing with schedule and Florida IMO. I give richt 5 more years. I agree, he is good, but not good enough to take them to the NC.

Georgia is where we were in about 2003 and on the way down. Richt's time will be up in 2011 if he does not bolt for FSU or Miami first.

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. Georgia can recruit, but a can not coach them. Any other head coach in the SEC could take georgia`s talent and win championships. Brown and Charles had a chance of being something special at Tennessee, but chose to go to georgia. Gardner is an excellent recruiter, but the worst coach in the sec, I`m glad we did not get him! Florida will not be the same team after Tebo is gone either! Things are going to get real interesting around here after our coaches have 2 or 3 years to recruite! :salute:

Meyer will be able to make whatever QB he puts in his system look better than he is. I know we're all looking forward to Timmy going away, but it still isn't going to be easy in 2010.

Well, sooner or later, whether the coaching is there or not, talent will win games. I think the uber-talent on UGA's roster will have a good season this year and surprise everybody. Let's not sleep on UGA. I think we have a real chance to take them out this year...Alabama is the one SEC front-runner that I think we have the BEST chance to upset this year. That is the game I have circled for this year. I want all those Bammers to STFU.

EDIT: Just noticed how many times I said "this year" - just replace three of those with "this season", "this fall", and "in 2009"

thanks

like your grapes sour?

Love them sour. Eaten a lot lately. I do not mind be beaten on a recruit at all. We were in late with a majority of our recruits this season. OC, BB, JJ, Geathers, and we would have never been in consideration by any of them had the Great Pumpkin still been at the helm.

We had gotten to a point in recruiting of just lying and taking it just to get it over with to say we had done it. When you have been taking it in the backside for a while it gets to you.

What we have done the season in recruiting alone has put us back into the minds of Jrs and Sophs. Since CLK's hire was announce in early December we have made almost every news cycle, good and bad. Not Bad going into spring practice.

I do not expect miracles, but we will see progress and we will get better.

Sour Grapes would be saying that we really didn't want those players that went elsewhere. No, we wanted them but we were a little late in the courtship. Understand that is not sour grapes. There are more fish to be fried at UT. There will be bigger and better players to come, there always is. It is called turning the corner and we have it in sight.

The Staff at UT is where it is at or should be in the college coaching arena. Great Pay with workalcoholics and loving every part of the process (Coaching, Recruiting, Gameday, Successes and Failures of teams/individuals) of which you do it for a year to start all over and done it again. Continious process......repeated

Nothing is falling through the cracks nor will it at the X and O level. They are raising the level and building players' confidence because they are professional coaches that know how to coach and coached at the ultimate level.

When Lane Kiffin stated that we would never put a team on the field that was not prepared, at that point talent was a moot point because he had sent the message it was about team. Hannibals Army was the greatest of all time and they were made up of the dreggs of society.

Its not always about talent, its about preparation, training, coaching and responsibility which boils down to one thing leadership.

I like sour grapes too :)

I'm just beginning to get sick of posts along the lines of... Why would (insert recruit) go to (insert school)?? They suck!!! We're so going to cream them in (insert year after 2009)!!!

But there was a lot more to your post than that, I'm just venting lol.

My take on UGA.

First off, I was a huge Fulmer supporter. That said, I think UGA is in the same boat we were in the last few years of Fulmer. I know we had 2 losing years. What I mean is that we had good teams. They were never good enough to win anything major (SECCG, BCS game, NC). I think that is the boat Richt and the Dawgs are in.

I agree with SI. We made a lot of progress since CLK came aboard that will not show up so much this year as later on. But an improvement this year will be evident.

We held on to Fulmer for too long and we know it.

UGA will hold on to Richt even longer through his nonperformance due to his nice guy qualities.

Dawg fans won't realize this until it's too late, and understandably so, the orange glasses make it hard for us to see things as they are sometimes. However, after having some of the best talent and being picked to win it all only to lose 3 games is a bad sign for Georgia's coaching abilities.

UGA will be good this year, but we get them in Knoxville and we're pissed off about sucking last year. It'll be tough for them to lose to Kiffin because they've bought into the idea that he doesn't know what he's doing.

Maybe I am own my own, but I like CMR as a coach. UGA has had some good years.....granted, they havent put it together in the form of a SEC or National Title yet, but there is a lot of luck involved in winning championships as well. I love beating GA as much as any UT fan.....but I really respect their program and the way CMR runs it. Pete Carrol hasnt won a title in a few years either, and he has MUCH more talent to work with than any other team in the country. I absolutely HATE UF..... but I find it hard to have the same animosity towards UGA because I respect their coach so much. As much as we may not want to admit it, barring either coach leaving....I dont see UGA or UF falling off much at all anytime soon.
