The video says it could still be a few more years until it's actually open.

The National Park service built wonders like Going to the Sun road, The Beartooth highway, Trail Ridge road, Skyline Drive and many other fantastic scenic roads in the just a few years. This road taking this long is a freaking joke, and always has been.

It took a while for the Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway to be completed.

When you see Going to the Sun you wonder how in the hell they made that one - parts of it are just hanging off the edge.

I will drive it someday lord willin, but I am going to knock the Beartooth off the bucket list this September :) I've already driven Trail Ridge road, and Skyline drive. Going to the Sun is the Sistine Chapel of the NPS though...can't wait to drive it.

I always admire parks that were built during Roosevelt's administration... CCC camps were a good thing, and I just feel that this country could use that process once again to rebuild our aging infrastructure. Kill the welfare roles and put folks back to work. A good thing, I think.

I drive to Going to the Sun Road to Logan's Pass a few times each year, but more and more it is getting difficult to find a parking spot once you arrive. Tourism is at an all time high in Glacier Park, and elsewhere I assume.

Yep. Although the bridges are completed they still have to pave the whole thing.

So many delays. A lot of people don't know that the blue ridge parkway was originally designed to come into Tennessee near Kingsport and South into the Smoky Mountains.

Will the Beartooth be open in Sept - I bet that's cutting it close

I say that all the time about the CCC and PWA. It looks like all the liberal young'uns would jump all over that opportunity. I mean they could actually cash the checks they write.

That would definitely be a great lifetime experience for me. My sphincter muscle tightened about 4 times just watching that.

I was on it right after completion, it took so long because of the engineering issues and the issues that environmentalists created. Similar to what the missing links issues. when the BRP and the FHP were being built the engineering couldn't master these two sections.
