So we are in the position of having to replace our RB's coach. Is Georgia more important to us than Florida in terms of overall recruiting?

If so, does that make Garner a better pick than Gonzales?

Lane has mentioned multiple times he wants to focus on Georgia. Thoughts???

Garner is a Defensive coach and wants to be an D Coordinator. He is not coming here unless something major happens.

Gonzales is my pipe dream... I would love to land him, but he needs more money and a title raise to leave. Don't think he will get it.

Mitch Browning is a GA here. Would it be possible that he might slide into one of those roles? I believe Syracuse still owes him another year on his terminated contract.

If that were the case, they could certainly throw some large money at one of those two, or Kelly, or Kippy, in hopes of luring them in. That makes sense to me, anyway...

I, for one, would rather be #1 or #2 in georgia with an occasional florida recruit than #4 or #5 in florida with an occasional georgia recruit.

Georgia is more important because we would only be fighting UGA for offensive recruits and, TBH, we should have the edge with defensive recruits.

don't forget Georgia Tech with their rebulding job. They might not get the QB/WR recruits, but they still have to be dealt with.

Don't know why the same thread popped up twice. Mods, feel free to cut one out. Thanks!

I want Kippy Brown but I'm not sure he is going to come to just coach receivers. I maybe wrong though. Also, I believe Kippy has relationships in East Texas.

I would agree except being 4th or 5th in Florida is still probably better than 1st or 2nd in Georgia due to the talent pool. We will be 2nd in Georgia regardless. I know GT is relevant again but not for the players we'd probably be targeting - just look at their list this year; it's pretty weak for a BCS team.

GA, no doubt. GA is always loaded with talent and we only have to fight against 1 school instead of 3...

UT has gotten its fair share of of top talent in Georgia. I wouldn't say we are #2.

That's kinda what I'm thinking, not to mention proximity to 'mama'.

It has to be easier to draw kids from a neighboring state than it is to try and steal one from 14 hours away.

Besides, and correct me if I'm wrong, but 1998 seemed to be a pretty good year with quite a few GA contributors, IIRC.

I think it would be easier to get recruits out of GA for distance reasons. If they want their family to see them or they get homesick, ATL area isn't too far away. Recruits from FL can be much farther away. I know this isn't an issue to many but it can play a factor.
