Some of your homies....
FRANKLIN A Franklin man accused of intentionally hitting another man with a car has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Adrian Booker, 29, was taken into custody about 9 p.m. Thursday.
Police and witnesses said he was driving a silver Cadillac on Natchez Street in Franklin around 4:40 p.m. when he veered off the street and onto a sidewalk and struck Adrikias Baugh. Police said Baugh was involved in a relationship with Booker's ex-girlfriend.
Baugh was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Lt. Chris Clausi said Baugh suffered injuries to his legs and arm. Baugh was scheduled to undergo surgery Friday, detective Tamara Smith said.
Clausi said witnesses told police that Baugh hit the windshield of Booker's vehicle and was carried more than a block before falling to the ground. Booker then got out of the car, looked at Baugh and took steps toward his former girlfriend before getting back in the vehicle and leaving the scene, police said.
Police received an anonymous tip and found Booker in a public housing development near Strahl Street. The Cadillac was recovered in the Rolling Meadows subdivision, on the west side of Franklin, Smith said. Smith said Booker declined to speak with police.
In addition to attempted murder, Booker faces charges of reckless endangerment, and violation of an order of protection. Smith said Booker's ex-girlfriend had filed for an order to keep him away from her. He is being held at the Williamson County Jail in lieu of posting $500,000 bail.
