I can't understand how anyone can say this type of racing isn't exciting. Edge of your seat lap after lap. Sorry but this i way better than a bunch of cars following each other around in a pack all day.

That was an awesome finish. Even my wife said that was the most exciting race she's seen(she doesn't watch often)

I don't think I said that. I DID say that the 2 car tango bullshat isn't racing.

It's a more true form of racing than 10 cars following each other single file for 50 laps without even making an attempt to pass anybody.

I haven't watched a full restrictor plate race since they went to the cot car. Usually record it on the DVR and ff to the last 30 laps unless there's a wreck. I don't care for either, but 2 car tangos is not racing.

Beats the hell out of me. I say take the plates off and let 'em go. We all know that ain't gonna happen though. Restrictor plate racing was fun watch up till the early 2000's.

There would be a lot of dead drivers if that happened. You gotta remember that Awesome Bill did that 212 without a draft. Dudes would run 220 or more with a draft.

there would be no possible way to keep the cars on the track at those kind of speeds.

Exactly, today showed how easily these cars can get turned over. Plus NASCAR got lucky as hell that the crash at the Busch race at Daytona wasn't worse.

If I'm not mistaken Rusty Wallace hit just shy of 230 mph without a plate at 'Dega several years ago. No plates would be disastrous.

Glad to see the underdog win and Front Row Motorsports have a good showing. Happy for the local guy, Bob Jenkins.

I know.... It's just the same old arguments every time a restrictor plate race comes around. Some like the 2 by 2, others don't. Of what I watched yesterday, the racing was actually decent. Almost as good as it was in the late 90's adn early 2000's. They were 3 wide through the field a few times. There wasn't as much follow the leader.

To each their own I guess. I love watching the lead change hands lap after lap.
