I understand the frustration and anger over losing and losing bad. We all want this team to finish strong and grow off of this season. You know these players and recruits are social media followers. So what do they think when they read half the junk they see? Would you go out and 'give your all' for a fan base who calls for your head after losing? We've got a roster that contains a bunch of guys who have been through pure crap, yet played their hearts out vs Uga and uscjr that was supposed to be blowouts. We've got top recruits who want to come here. One of the best rb's ( Hurd ) who wouldn't even talk to saban because he loves Tennessee who is commited to help turn this around. It sucks, I agree completely. However, we need to show this team and the future teams we support them. It will get better, if we don't run them off first!

Wasn't saying its ok because they suck. Some just have no concept if what this team has been through. They compare us to auburn and other teams which isn't fair. These other teams haven't had the coaching changes we have, or list top recruits to drugs, grades, or police incidents. If you want to choose to bash coaches and players and help recruits change their mind, it's a free country. Just don't show up next year when Hurd and others are playing for someone else killing it saying 'we could've had him, what happened'?

I'm sick of reading and hearing about how "sensitive" and "fragile" are our recruits. If a potential UT recruit is turned away from this great college because of something I posted on a message board then so be it. Let him go elsewhere, dig ditches, join the military or whatever. I don't care. People like you who come on here and preach about being careful not to say anything negative make me want to puke. This is major college football and anyone not up for the reality needs to grow a pair or find another sport.

We've shown the team we support them. No other 4-5 team has so many fans coming to their games. Plenty of positive things have been said about them on here and elsewhere after the Georgia and South Carolina games. It was a lovefest. But they still went out and quit against Alabama and Missouri.

I'll get blasted for obviously not being a Vol fan.

I'll just say this, go after the coaches and question the strategy and prep work. Leave the players alone. They bust their azzes and follow instructions.

It's okay to offer honest criticism of the coaches and players when mistakes are made. I don't buy into calling for Butch's head, but the team was not prepared to play that game last night, mentally or from a discipline standpoint. Now is the time to ask the question 'why?' We must absolutely address the 'why' or the program will not continue to move in a positive direction.

Good fan bases follow programs closely - it means they love something bigger than just a coach or a player. And, that's one of the reasons this fan base has continued to pour thousands of dollars out of their pockets into a program that been in the shape that it has been in. We love the Vols when they're winning and love them when they're losing - otherwise, no one would be complaining about last night's performance.

We do not have have SEC talent at certain positions which makes our product on the field exposed. Would the following staters even make the 3 deep at other SEC schools

Downs
j Smith
brewer
Toney
Neal
Hood

What idea that say about their backups who are upperclassmen as well?

how can you blame the coaches they can do work all week as a player you have to step up and make the plays butch jones can't do it for you...these coaches are coaching kids that they are still learning what skills they have...we have no depth nor speed for the sec...and butch is making due with what we have....hung with your GA team and beat SC two games we shouldn't of even been close too...we lose two games and the world is falling get a grip people let the guy recruit talent and build for his system

I don't see much of a future for this Vol squad, poorest performance since Kentucky loss with receiver at QB.....hard to watch and not get sick

I understand the principle of being constructive with criticism, but if a recruit bases his decision on whether or not he comes to UT on what a small number of fans express on social media then i don't want that recruit.

The coaches can shoulder their fair share and should.

Our veteran OL got it handed to them and they looked silly and undisciplined while it happened. The DL was about the same. At some point personal pride and accountability to yourself and team should kick in. You shouldn't need help in those areas.

Talent and scheme/prep are issues but the above has nothing to do with either and is the most concerning part at this point.

I completely understand your frustration. We are in a similar position to tell you the truth. Our O line has been very inconsistent, special teams have been a mess, and the Defense has been terrible.

Here is my overall point, if you have a couple of guys that come out flat and not performing, then yes, the coaches have to deal with them. But you have to question your coaches when the entire team comes out flat.

Extremely well said Beecher, congrats
