On 8/27 Prattville, Al. opens at doubleheader against last season's #2 St. Thomas Aquinas followed by Hoover hosting last season's#1 South Panola, MS. The games will be played in Hoover.

I sure wish Maryville could have gotten in on a third game. Prattville played Brentwood Academy a few yrs. back and won 26-0. I think Maryville would have given them a much better game.

Hoover better be ready for a lot of Panola fans to show up.

MUS played a home/away against S. Panola in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, MUS and Barry Brunetti beat S. Panola 21-19 (after holding on to a 21-0 lead) at S. Panola. It was the first home loss for S.Panola in over 8 YEARS. That win was part of a 28 game winning streak for MUS, which was broken . . .

In the 2010 game, when S. Panola traveled 5,000+ fans to Memphis (it was an unreal scene for a HS game!) for the re-match against a depleted MUS team. The final result 39-2 (it could have been 60-2, but MUS's punter was excellent) S. Panola. Nickalos Brassell and Qyendairs Griffin ran all over MUS (I think Griffin was like 15 carries for 250 yards).

Maryville is afraid to play out of state teams, because they would get embarrassed.

Well that covers a lot of ground(an out of state team...any team?). Not saying that the Rebels would not get embarassed by the #1, #2, #3...teams in the country, but they definitely would never be afraid. It appears that you don't know much about the heart and soul of a Maryville Rebel.

Not any team, but most top teams from other states. I used to live in Dallas, and went to multiple hs games their. Most average Texas teams would beat maryville, the top teams would crush them. Jmo also didn't they turn down the chance to play Miami nw a few years ago???

Given: Texas HS football>Tennessee HS football. Never heard the Miami story...but if they turned it down, I can assure that if was not out of fear.

The reason Maryville doesn't play out of state games is because they would have to drop the Alcoa game to do it. That game means too much to the community to drop it. The Maryville coach was quoted that last year if you think I'm wrong.
