For what it's worth...

Sorry ZJC...

Just trying to figure out how we actually got included into more brackets with the loss???

No idea.

I'm not a bracketologist.

I was thinking though, despite our bad RPI, everything else looks good.

We are still a bubble team, especially since there hasn't been a bubble team outside of NC State to make a significant move.

So, you know, there's little hope, but you never know.

I didn't wanna go that fr because I know someone will freak out and bash me...

BUT SCREW IT...

If the committee puts ALOT of weight on the last month, and how we played with jarnell I could see it. I heard Lunardi(I think it was) awhile back said this team could set the record go highest RPI at large.

For it to even be a possibility, we need every tournament team to win today and tomorrow.

9-3 finish. 11-5 with Jarnell correct? Remember, they lost their third best big, might the committee take that into considering? Who knows.

I mean, despite last night's game, are we really that much worse than say Miami? NC State? Drexel? Texas? Northwestern? I'm not say we would win every game 10/10, but if we shoot from outside our average from 3 (36%), then I would make us the favorite.

So maybe the committee does that. Maybe they take into the fact we had a first year coach. Maybe they realize 4-7 vs. RPI top 50 is better than anyone else.

I have no idea. I'm not expecting it. But, that's the beauty of sports. You just don't know.

The bubble is just horrible so barring any upsets, you never know. Either way still proud of the team.

Regardless, CCM has done a good job in his first year. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades! Shooting was off last night , especially timely baskets . :hi:

Everyone knows that I've never felt like Tennessee had a worthy resume. That said, with the current construction of the roster with Jarnell Stokes, they have one of the 37 best profiles. It will all come down to the committee's weight placed on Tennessee's OOC work.

I just can not see it happening after last night. The team showed once again how horrible of a team they are on the road.

You coming to this side just made me feel a little better haha

It's the honest truth. Despite losing a head-to-head against Mississippi State, Tennessee deserves a bid over them based on the way both squads are playing right now and how the rosters look now, opposed to in January.

When Pearl was fired and we hired a mid major coach, I posted that we are going to go through another period of mediocrity. I believe I was wrong. In the beginning I was resolved to just sit back and be entertained-win or lose. Now I believe we can be relevant again given some time. CCM has made better players out of Maymon, McRae, Golden, McBee, Tatum and even Hall. If he can recruit some super stars like Stokes, the next few years will be fun.

That may end up being a bigger downfall than the pathetic non-conference games.

Despite my hope for the future, I agree with you 100% on last night's performance. The shooting % was bad enough, but letting Ole Miss go inside and score on just about every possession was even worse. This probably killed our chance to get to the dance. I just hope we can make the NIT.

We are a nit lock. Not that that's something to brag about just saying dont be worried about missing it...

Well be in it.

There's no chance really of going from the brink of the NCAA to missing out entirely on the NIT based on one loss to a bubble team in their own right. We will be a 2-3 seed in the NIT IMO.

I'm not being negative at all.. But do you guys think we actually deserve to make it? We have tons of talent but we all know we are terrible away from Knoxville. I hope we can pull out some miracle though. Go Vols

We played well at Florida and at lsu. We also played very well in Maui.

The potential is there to turn it in, the consistency has just been lacking.

IMO they are more deserving than a few of the teams who will make it.

I wouldn't say tons of talent first off.

Here is my thoughts.

Do I think, despite the fact we lost last night, UT is one of the best 34 at large teams? Yes, right now we are. However, our resume isn't that great. We are a much better team with Stokes and he definitely helped us. We played very well down the stretch, and I know they don't look at it, but we were the second best team in the SEC. But with a low RPI and no top 25 RPI wins, I can understand us not getting in.

At this point, not so much terrible outside of Knoxville, but pathetic against the zone.
Our kids don't have the patience to play zone offense.
Kennedy was the only coach smart enough to exploit it.

It was the zone more than the atmosphere IMO.
