the loss sucked. and from perusing a couple of threads already, i see the refs and CPF are in discussion, as well as the running game, which was the real issue imo.

but at the end of the day, to me all the mistakes, turnovers penalties for both teams wound up being a wash....they get a TD called back on a punt return, next play we get a TD called back on INT return, both had intentional grounding calls, and both had turnovers that really didn't hurt the them.

In the end, it was actually a really good game to watch, that is if you were not a fan of either team. Unfortunately for me, i am a fan of the losing team.

so, i give a lot of credit to Florida's defense....they are as good as advertised, and they are the fastest defense we've seen to date, something i think that will get challenged when we play LSU later on this season.

i think the offensive line is living up to its MO...it can pass block pretty good, can't run block....-11 yards rushing....wow. a lot has to go wrong with the RB's and o line for a number like that, and a lot did, and when you do that against a really good D, the end result is not good. And for 3 1/2 qtrs...the running game didn't matter. but when we needed a drive we couldn't get one...on our last two possesions, we got put in 3rd and long (really long on the last possesion) primarily because we couldn't do anything on the ground on 1st down. You can't do that when you are trying to put a game away.

so as i end my rambling this morning...i give a lot more credit to Florida's defense than i do bashing TN. I think TN is a better football team than last year, and it showed. The defense played well, better than last week, right up until it mattered most.

I think what you saw last night, at least as it relates to how the game turned out, was the difference in Florida's personnel vs our personnel(deshawn Wynn and their O line got it done when they needed to). and we still had the lead in the 4th qtr and had a shot to win it at the end...and while i still hate losing, that's really all you can ask for.

Season is not over. Coaches didn't suck. Erik Ainge didn't lose this game. the defense didn't lose this game. Florida just won it, and they should be thanking their lucky stars about it....

Good game, let's move on to Marshall. Go Vols.

See that's it... Thank you.

People on here are losing there minds becasue we lost by one point. There is no team that I hate losing to more than Florida but you have to look at the big picture... This team is not without promise.

That being said, CPF needs to get more out of the run game. It is his responsibility to do so. If we continue to play like that without him adjusting then we may need to move on, but you cannot give up on this team so early in the season. It hurts like hell but we need to get ready for the next game.

Hey, we could be in Miss. State's situation. They lost at home to Tulane last night, and are now sitting at 0-3 for the season. While I agree that things could be better, they could also be worse.

The thing that worries me more than anything is our lack of depth. We have got to get Walter healthy, and get him in the mix. I would also like to see Dan in there as well. I didn't see his name in the participation report from last night. Don't know if he was injured or not.

i think they will as the season goes on...the big knock on this o line all thru training camp and the 1st two games has been the run blocking...we get no push down the feild. they do a pretty good job of pass protection, but nothing by way of run blocking...and did you see any pulls or anything last night? i don't recall any...and i thought we might see a screen or two ( i think they tried to run one, but UF stuffed it?)...

oh well...it's a long season....beat UGA and Bama...sets up a huge game with LSU later on....10-2 still very possible, and nothing, absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
