Our #1 Priority should be RBs with SPEED.

Poole looked horrible, Neal actually looked like the better back.

And dont tell me its the OL because from where I sat I saw plenty of open holes and cutback lanes they just were too slow to hit them or just didnt see them.

So Neal looked slow too?

I agree. Just seemed like every time Poole had an opening, he either slipped or didn't finish the run.

Why didn't we throw a pass to get a first down on our last drive? I kept watching and thinking that we are done grinding it out on the ground-now let's pass for a first down and run the clock out?

Not sure about the play calling on the last drive?

Getting another RB has been a priority for this staff for a while, and all along my opinion has been that we'd be fine with Poole/Oku/Neal/Smith and that we should concentrate on our many other needs. But not after last night. Poole looked incredibly slow, and it's a pretty bad sign about our future that Oku and Neal aren't pushing him for the starting spot. From here to NSD, RB is as high priority as any position.

I see what you did there and yes, Neal is not fast. He can run the ball better without being fast. Nice try.

Neal can fly! I will take him in a foot race over poole anyday of the week. I would take him if he only had 8 toes.

Comparing the speed of Neal to Poole is like asking which OL is the fastest.

is poole hurt? He has looked very slow for the last 5 games of the season. I know that He is giving 100% but he looks very slow. But I wonder if he has some sort of injury. We need more speed at the RB no doubt!

Poole did get hurt but he kept playing, I dont think hes been the same since. Start of the season he saw the field great, made the right cuts and hit the hole downhill. Second half of the season he just seems hesitant and doesnt seem to have a feel for the game.

I have heard some mention he runs like he doesnt have faith in his OL but still.

At the start when he was doing well he was averaging less than 2 yards per carry but would break off huge runs that made his numbers look good. He was never extremely consistent.

Tom Smith will see a ton of carries IMO unless Poole gets it together or Neal decides to step up.

We need that speed back who can get to the edge and make something happen.

Wait, wait everyone keeps telling me, Poole is so talented that he will start no matter what.

I got dogged for saying this last year. What I don't get is just because he has 1000 yards people say oh he's such a good back. He's more of a 1000 yard plug. He doesn't cut well at all. He looks as if he has to try to hard to run. Some guys make the game look easy. Poole isn't one of those guys.

Exactly. If an elite RB doesn't see that he can come in and start day 1, he's blind.

Careful now dogging Poole... You'll make someone here very angry...

I've said this before... I like the guy. By all accounts he's a great kid but he is not a great back.. He goes down to easy and he misses holes. He is a good backup to a true #1 back and nothing more.. However he's all Dooley has right now..

Poole is a decent back. Neal will be ok. Oku is buried on the depth chart. Smith is just another Poole. We need to either get Bellamy Morris or Grooms.

We need a back like Kniles Davis at Arkansas. Another tight end like Luke Stocker wouldn't hurt much either.

Tom Smith is not another Poole. Yes, he's a size banger, but if you watch his films... He finds the lane, gets his hips set and heads downhill, punishing tacklers and going for positive yardage. Poole has started dancing around too much, and has said so. He just hasn't corrected the problem. But saying Smith will be the same is unfair and wrong. The kid has great fundamentals with body lean and downhill running.
