Former Govenor Clements Died

Apparently he had been sick for a while and was mourning the death of his son last year. He passed away in Dallas yesterday at the age of 94.

His legacy as the first Republican Govenor since the Reconstruction Era should overshadow his involvement with SMU. I doubt that will be the case though.

Clements was a democrat and was killed in a car accident years ago.

Are you talking about Winfield Dunn? He was the first republican governor in 1971.
