Too many people didn’t want her here because of the politics. Many others said she was a star in the making over CKH. 2022 Recruits thread is where a good portion went on record about the Lawson hire for Duke.I would have liked to see the Lady Vols consider Kara for the HC job. She has done a super job with a program that had gone far South. I am super proud of her achievements with Duke.
Well it was a good hire for Duke. I want to see what CKC can do with her own recruits both in high school and portal recruits. I think she is doing an excellent job with the hand that she was dealt. Many of our players where not built to run her system but she is making it work.Too many people didn’t want her here because of the politics. What are the “politics” you speak of
Exactly. It took some time. Kara's has done well in recruiting but her overall record of accomplishments is not yet something to call her a home run hire.I'm glad CKL won the the ACC Championship..., it didn't happen year one.....,
Never liked this argument. To many take a short sighted approach when they look at who's available. Need to know availability, cost and fit . All of this has to balance out. I think the university has gone through enough ADs to show their just trying to do what's best for the University no matter race or nationality. GBOBesides, how many “African-American “ coaches have we had on the hill. She said not a single one at my alma mater. I would have to question her math skills
Feel free to add. We can go down the listif you’re really trying to say we’ve had only 2, then that’s absolutely dishonest I guess some will never let the facts get in the way of a good story
I didn’t take time to read the story. The headline didn’t refer to “ head” coaches. I have a better question. Do you know of any “head “ coach candidate that wasn’t hired due to skin color alone. She doesn’t either. It’s just always the go toFeel free to add. We can go down the list
Wade Houston. She not referring to assistant coaches. It’ll be a short list after the two already listed. If you don’t like the answer to the “politics” answer ask better questions next time. How many did we have at the time of the comment?
Sylvester Croom not hired at the time at Bama is one that comes to mind. I’m not an AD making the hire, neither is she. Show me one who will go on record and I’ll show you one about to lose their job.I didn’t take time to read the story. The headline didn’t refer to “ head” coaches. I have a better question. I was referring to The University of Tennessee only. So you know as a fact Sylvester wasn’t hired because of skin color. I wish they would have hired him, because as it turns out he wasn’t a good head coachSylvester Croom not hired at the time at Bama is one that comes to mind. Croom has gone on record as saying that.I was referring to The University of Tennessee only. So you know as a fact Sylvester wasn’t hired because of skin color. I wish they would have hired him, because as it turns out he wasn’t a good head coach

Former Lady Vol Kara Lawson calls out lack of diversity at highest levels of Tennessee Athletics
"When I look at my alma mater, Knoxville, there is not a single African-American coach at that institution. That is not the same for the majority of the SEC."www.wbir.com
