Former Lady Vol, Kara Lawson, leads Duke to ACC Tournament Championship Win!

The Lady Vols just hit a rough patch, just like Notre Dame has. All we can hope is that the LVs get some rest and comeback in the NCAA’s and kick some butt. This team is capable of upsetting any of the top 10 teams. They have shown that this season. Playing in the SEC is brutal and tough. It will take its toll on any team. Let’s just hope they recover and get their second wind to carry them in the SEC. CKC has taken round pegs and fitted them in square holes. That took a lot of work and mind bending.

I would have liked to see the Lady Vols consider Kara for the HC job. She has done a super job with a program that had gone far South. I am super proud of her achievements with Duke.
Too many people didn’t want her here because of the politics. Many others said she was a star in the making over CKH. 2022 Recruits thread is where a good portion went on record about the Lawson hire for Duke.

Well it was a good hire for Duke. I want to see what CKC can do with her own recruits both in high school and portal recruits. I think she is doing an excellent job with the hand that she was dealt. Many of our players where not built to run her system but she is making it work.

I'm glad CKL won the the ACC Championship..., it didn't happen year one.....,
Exactly. It took some time. Kara's has done well in recruiting but her overall record of accomplishments is not yet something to call her a home run hire.

Heck, Kyra Elzy won an SEC tournament championship at KY in 21-22. Conference tournaments can take odd turns because the top teams are more focused on the upcoming big dance.

Besides, how many “African-American “ coaches have we had on the hill. She said not a single one at my alma mater. I would have to question her math skills
Never liked this argument. To many take a short sighted approach when they look at who's available. Need to know availability, cost and fit . All of this has to balance out. I think the university has gone through enough ADs to show their just trying to do what's best for the University no matter race or nationality. GBO 💥

if you’re really trying to say we’ve had only 2, then that’s absolutely dishonest I guess some will never let the facts get in the way of a good story
Feel free to add. We can go down the list
Wade Houston. She not referring to assistant coaches. It’ll be a short list after the two already listed. If you don’t like the answer to the “politics” answer ask better questions next time. How many did we have at the time of the comment?

I didn’t take time to read the story. The headline didn’t refer to “ head” coaches. I have a better question. Do you know of any “head “ coach candidate that wasn’t hired due to skin color alone. She doesn’t either. It’s just always the go to

Sylvester Croom not hired at the time at Bama is one that comes to mind. I’m not an AD making the hire, neither is she. Show me one who will go on record and I’ll show you one about to lose their job.

I was referring to The University of Tennessee only. So you know as a fact Sylvester wasn’t hired because of skin color. I wish they would have hired him, because as it turns out he wasn’t a good head coach

Croom has gone on record as saying that.

Truthfully Tennessee doesn’t interview too many minorities when we have an opening. How was Kippy Brown handled here? If I recall, the hire was already made but Hamilton gave him a courtesy to not upset people after Brown served as interim HC after Kiffin. We got Dooley instead.

Again….its easy to tell the real reason why Lady Vol fans rarely support and always down Kara’s accomplishments!

They were quick as hell to compare her to Kellie and almost guarantee that it was a bad hire with Kara’s lack of college coaching, yet…..here we are! 🧡🩵
