Former UF WR Reche Caldwell Shot and Killed in Tampa

Two things I remember about this guy and surprisingly for a Florida Gator WR, neither one has anything to do with Tennessee: His bug eyes after dropping a pass in the AFC Championship Game for New England vs Indy (a great game) and he was arrested after signing for a USPS package which contained ecstasy... not the smartest move in the history of the world.

With the exception of 2002, we had a Caldwell playing WR for us between 1999 and 2007.

Reche Caldwell from the University of Florida shot and killed last night.

#8 all time in receptions at UF.

He was part of the back half of Spurrier’s last few years at Florida. Caldwell was part of the really excellent WR trio along with Jabar Gaffney and Taylor Jacobs, with Rex Grossman throwing them the ball.

This is very unfortunate. i hope they find the perpetrator/s. With everything that is happening right now, stories like this don't get the attention they deserve.

It got plenty of media attention in Tampa and Gainesville.

From Some of the things I read It sounds like Caldwell’s life had gotten off course some the past few years and that it could possibly have led to him being in a position where something tragic like this might occur . I’m not trying to speak ill of the dead, just interested to see if you knew much about what locals are saying down there.
