Former UGA star David Pollack.....

I heard this too. It's really sad. He was an exceptional player and from everything I ever read or saw, he was a great man. Hopefully he'll be able to lead a successful career outside of the NFL.

saw them re air the story on his injury a couple of weeks ago...sad story. but his attitude seems good.

hated the guy while a UGA obviously, but hate to see something like that happen to the kid...good luck to him in the future.

I saw the game which it happened in, it really was sad, it's always bad to see someone go out like that

They've been running stories on him down here for the past week. The poor guy has had his head and neck completely immobilized and wearing a halo for the past 3 months.

I don't think anybody needs to worry about him though. As much as we have poked fun at him in the past, from what I've heard, he's a very smart guy who is going to do well whether he ever plays another down or not.

And you can stop him from playing in the NFL, but that motor will always be running..

You just don't know how hard I fought myself to keep that phrase out of my post . . . :)

Yeah, I changed it. Don't know why I posted that . . . He was a first round draft pick in 2005.

He can come try . . . but I think it would only be fair to let him know that my motor never stops running either.

did y'all see the update on him last night on MNF? the halo is gone, and they are now saying if all goes well during the surgery, if cleared by the docs, he's going to resume his career....amazing.

Was his his friend since childhood, David Greene, there to comfort him when he made the announcement?

I always got the same weird feeling when I would see those two hugging each other on the Bulldog sidelines. It's the same feeling I get when I see Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow gazing into each others eyes.

its a sad story. I hated him for how cocky he was when he was at UGA. But i've heard he was a great person. I wish him well in his outside of football life.

GAVol, do you know any of the Delarosa's? I know Macon is a decent sized place, but my boy that I played ball with is from Macon, his name is Micah Delarosa. He went to some private school down there.
