Everyone had probably noticed that some guys in the NFL are being "cute" and stating their high school, or hometown in player introductions. I thought it was funny initially because other schools were involved and classless at the same time. Until yesterday. Rashad Moore of the Seahawks and Eric Parker of the Chargers both disrespected the Big Orange yesterday. At first I wanted their name removed from any records, media and never mentioned again at UT. I got over it though. Both guys were contributors but definitley not special players while they wore the orange. Just want everyone else out there to know that these two shouldn't be held with the highest esteem.

I was purposefully listening to the intros to se if anyone mentioned "Untouchables" like the co-Canes players mention THE U. I thought it was bad taste not to mention Tennessee.

As a Vol fan I know they played at UT as do many others. Surely we take pride in seeing all of our former players do well in the NFL. There is a saying "Don't forget where you came from". They insult us by not acknowleding us. Sure, most viewers might not know where they played in college but I am sure ther are fans of other schools that recognize them and see the insult.

Plus, its recruiting season and we need any help we can get. The more they say UT the better.

There was no bad taste and no slight to UT whatsoever. They wanted to give either their hometown or High school props and there is nothing wrong with that at all. UT doesn't need help during recruiting season they do well enough on their own and everyone should be proud they come from someplace they feel confident they don't have to promote. The Kids that follow the NFL know where those players come from, all you have to do is click on Yahoo and the NFL then their names and it tells you where they went to school.

. . . a little hypersensitive? Do you expect them to tattoo the Power T on their forehead or something? Their hometown and/or high school probably did as much for them as UT did.

Nope. We are better than that.

We'll see about the attention when the Vols make the Sugar Bowl next year. :D

Maybe that's what we need to do to liven things up around here - designate one member per day to post like a Bammer.

I do not want to do this. I'm afraid I'll never come back. You can't reclaim that many brain cells in a 24 hour period.

He lives closer to Inglewood and Long Beach, actually, but hell... Close enough, right? The trip couldn't be more than an hour and a half by car.
