Cut sounded much more positive about Ainge. Good thing... but the noose is also tied. If he gets "surprised" again...

I am now even more optimistic than I was before about the team and far more optimistic about Ainge.

At least Foster is having a role in the scrimmage. Marshall Lynch didn't even participate in Cal's first scrimmage because they didn't think he needed any work. This is a good thing though, we get to see if Coker, Yancey, Williams, and maybe Hardesty can carry the load.

Good point about the other r/bs getting some downs in to see how they have progressed.

I'd say Hardesty will be limited too. I think Coker will get the most carries with Yancey behind him and then Williams.

My expectation is Coker will shine in the next 2 scrimmages and push for more playing time. :victory:

I totally agree. I think Coker might end up having his coming out party this year. Man our backfield is shaping up nice this year.

If Coker can keep it together, the combination of him and Foster will be a nice one. Then add in Hardesty (if his knee can stay healthy), Holbert and Anderson and we have a heck of a backfield.

You know...I spent a lot of time on here last year saying that the staff was doing the "break him down so we can build him up" routine on Coker and that they believed all along he was more than just a fast guy and that he would eventually outshine Hardesty and everyone said I was crazy, well.....:p

By the way, I also said that Hardesty very well may end up on defense...again, I was called crazy...well....don't be shocked if it happens.

Where is there anything about HardestY going to defense this year. From the last words in practice he was ahead of Coker on the list. I like the fact we have several tailbacks. I don't see him going to the D this year.

Everyone has an opinion but I don't think Coker has outshined Hardesty to this point. I also haven't seen Hardesty take any snaps on defense.

Hardesty ran with authority from what I saw. I think the only real concern with him is how the knee holds up.

There is absolutely no chance Hardesty ends up playing defense. I will give you more than a cookie if he ever sniffs takings snaps on defense in a game.

I don't even want to think about what else it is you want to give me, but I'll just stick with....we'll see.
