Yes, we know what VA TECH is playing for, trying to come together and bring hope to their community....now, let's say a prayer for the families of the ones that lost their lives and move on......

Calling VA TECH America's team?? Not in my household.....the real heroes baracaded the doors, kept the gunman out, carried wounded to safety.......the professor that put his body in harms way to protect his students......haven't heard about them at all.....

God protect us all....but it is time to move on....at least on ESPN!!

I think its low they are using VA Tech for numbers. What happened up there has NOTHING to do with football. Why should it be Americas team? Why should gameday be at a place where a blow out is likely to occur?

Neither did Katrina, but the whole country embraced the Saints.

Tried to watch it, but just ran out of patience. Did they forget that Mike Vick played there. I don't hear them talking about how great he was. 32 Families deserve their own show on the subject, don't know how this translates into football.

Having said that, this was a tragedy felt across the nation and I believe a different forum would be more appropriate. Say ECU beats VA Tech, doubtful, but say it happened. What kind of tribute would that be to the 32 families and how fair is it to the Va tech players. Also, this is not the first sporting event to occur since this terrible event. I'm sure there were other sporting events since this tragedy happened and thus why does ESPN lay such signifigance on this one game and this being a tribute to the students who lost their lives that day.

God Bless the 32 families and I in no way intended to malign them, just ESPN taking advantage of an opportunity.

What I think is funny is how they had this really expensive "investigation" determing what happened. Hell, I could have saved them money and just said a whacko went nuts and shot up people. Its done, its over, dont start the college football season off on a depressing note. First day of college football, I dont wanna see clips of people crying and the horrible images from several months ago. It has nothing to do with football. Lord be with the families of the victims, but its football time.

Except for me. I hate them, lol. Although I have a slight bit of curosity now because of Meachem. I would not be suprised if gameday will be at LSU vs VaTech. That would be Katrina vs Shooting. Media Frenzy I tell you....

Now, onto Nick Saban. Gameday is getting dull. I wonder if they'll show, "I will not be the next HC for Alabama."?

Glad it didn't happen on our campus....ESPN and Fowler would say it was because of our lack of size and strength and speed. FOWLER: "The reason this tragedy happened on the campus of University of Tennessee was probably to get them ready for Cal....Tennessee has no chance so they can take this and make them stronger for after the Bears roll over them"
