Should Frank even be making these kind of decisions at this point?

If you consider yourself to have a top notch program I don't see how you cannot at least make an offer to Donovan. He'll say no, but at least you won't be hounded for not offering.

It'll probably the take the pony express a week or so to deliver his letter...another week or so for them to return with an answer...so, at least 2 weeks before Broyles knows if he has his man.

Senile may have been the wrong word. Delusional may have been more accurate. Apparently, Self and Gillispie have already rejected overtures regarding a move to Fayettenam. Reports are that Broyles will now turn his attentions to Tim Floyd and Lon Kruger. I wonder who he's going to call when those two get done laughing at him?

Buzz Peterson. The Coach of the Chanticleers needs another shot in the SEC.

Billy Gillispie-Strike One.
Bill Self-Strike Two.
Tim Floyd-Strike Three.

I am gaining great pleasure from watching Frank fail miserably in his efforts.

He is going after Nolan Richardson next. He said that Nolan had great sucess in the SEC about 15 years ago

Lon Kruger is next...then Rick Majerus...then Stan Heath. At this stage of alzheimers, Broyles has probably forgotten that Heath already coached at Arkansas.

The Associated Press is reporting that Broyles requested and received permission to talk to John Calipari.

Hat, have you ever had a conversation with Cal about the Razorback Racist?
I have not. I'm absolutely stunned that Broyles would call Cal. It appears to me that his plan is to call a number of high profile coaches, get rejected, then embark on a realistic search. The most curious thing about him calling John is the recruiting dynamic it creates. If Broyles doesn't talk Cal into coming to Fayettenam, he's given him a bulit in recruiting pitch. John can tell recruits that Memphis is superior to Arkansas and use his having rejected their overtures as evidence. Andy Katz reported today that Larry Eustachy may become a candidate for the Hogs. That would be a great hire. Therefore, I'm not sure if Broyles will be smart enough to make that call.

Agree that Eustachy would be a top notch hire for Arky. I can't imagine luring most big name coaches to Fayetteville, but Eustachy needs to rebuild his resume and credibility.

I'll go on record now; If Arkansas hires Larry Eustachy, they reach at least the Sweet 16 next year.

Eustachy would be the best and most obvious hire the Razorbacks could make in this time of delirium that has taken over their program. That or the guy at Houston, can't think of his name right now.

I'm not a big Tom Penders fan. However, hiring him would be about par for the Frank Broyles course.
