Hmmm he hasnt had any real offers with all the coaching changes -- wonder why ? Slim pickings left now for Wisconsin, maybe Franklin will get an interview.

Vandy gave Franklin an extension, because of all of the "offers" he was receiving from other institutions. . .

Maybe the extention and big fat raise Vandy just gave him could have something to do with that...

I guess so - I hate him and Vanderbilt - so I wasnt watching the goings on there - just remembered those espn announcers hyping him up for a "bigger" job somewhere else, Vandys as big as it gets for him I guess.

as much as I can't stand to say this...Vandy aint what it use to be. Maybe he does have a "good job" and how dare me say that an SEC school that has obviously turned things around and seem to be happy and constantly improving might be a tad bit better than Wisky. (the job that is).

Right on, man. Vandy were fools to push his salary close to 4 million and promise all kinds of facilities upgrades with no other school interested. :shakehead:

Or maybe he likes it at Vandy and wants to try and build a legacy there?

Vanderbilt is not a place to build your coaching legacy. It may be a spring board on to other higher profile positions but definitely not one to build your legacy.

Vanderbilt has been an oddity and never consistent winning in the SEC. Every decade or so that program will make some waves and win games they shouldn't but soon reality sets in they are back to winning 3 to 5 games per year.

It's the nature of the beast within the SEC.

It absolutely is a place to build a legacy. No one has ever had sustained success there. If Franklin can do that, he builds a legacy. How many people thought Jim Calhoun was going to build a legacy at UCONN?

I believe Tennessee will win a Conference Championship long before Vandy will.....regardless of who is coaching at Vandy!

He has 8 wins and is going to a bowl. We couldn't do that.

how many of those wins came against teams that are going bowling? 1 (ole miss).

their schedule this year included: auburn 3-9 (0-8 SEC); Kentucky 2-10 (0-8 SEC); and Tennessee 5-7 (1-7 SEC). that's three wins against the worst teams in the conference.

Franklin may end up proving that he's a solid coach, but his current record doesn't indicate that he is right now. for now, the Franklin-slurpers should take their love affair down a notch.

Tell me what a solid coach is supposed to accomplish at Vanderbilt.
