For the most part I think our free throw shooting has been pretty decent this year
mainly because of stokes tremendous improvement. But my god Maymon has one ugly free throw and ive never seen a PG who shoots 50 percent from the line like Barton. I was thinking wow we got lucky Caruso missed those last two but then I had a bad feeling when maymon went to the line.

By the way that kid on T A&M sticking his tongue out and smirking was pissing me off quite a bit. I really do not like T A&M. I don't want to sound like a ***** but how is sticking
tongue directly at another player after draining a shot not considered "taunting" in this ncaa we live in.

The NCAA is a joke just like the enforcement of the rules. A throat slash draws a penalty a tongue stuck out is over looked. The refs need a refresher course but it will never happen. Right now in every sport they are making game changing decisions. It never use to be that way. You need coaches to get in their ear, regardless of the consequences.

Here is the gist of it. Tennessee cannot defend the drive to the basket with their "all consuming, all Cuonzo" man-to-man defense. Every game they have lost has been due to many drives to the basket and resulting layups. At some point in every game, good teams play a zone. Doesn't matter which zone as long as it stops layups. The other teams seem to be able to shut Tennessee scoring down with a good zone. They end up running in circles and not scoring a basket. It is pitiful to see the big guys trying to go up with three defenders surrounding them.

Well, Maymon isn't a terrible FT shooter at 65%, but he definitely looked shaky with the pressure on him for those last 2. Barton is not and has never been a PG, and FT's aren't his wheelhouse. He shoots 2x more three pointers than FTs because he's basically a spot up scorer.

But ultimately you're correct, you were lucky that Caruso missed his FTs.

Was really weird that no TO (I think Martin had at least one left) was called after the made shot. Maybe the bench was in shock.

Martin doesn't call time outs because he doesn't have a clue about what to do when things go bad.
3 years in and his defense is still one dimensional unless you want to add the press which he rarely uses. Forget zone which isn't practiced enough to be used.
Coaches with bad teams will coach their players to wait us out because we'll let them back in the game before it's over.
I expect a good win here and there to keep fans buying tickets but a wtf loss here and there to balance it out going forward.
Same ole script - new season.

Stokes improvement at the line has been amazing. He's obviously worked on it. The A&M guy should've been dealt with.

He was just making our players mad, which leads to poor focus and stupid plays out of anger to get back at him. Its actually a great strategy. Note Marshall Henderson.

That left handed shot is so ugly. I cringe every time it is released.

I have to agree. Its got more back spin than a Bubby Watson wedge shot. And my man's knees are so straight I worry about him passing out. :) Looks like he is smuggling cocaine.
