We have GOT to start making our free throws. This game should have never came down to the final possession. Gritty win guys. :good!:

Ten point lead with three minutes to go and UConn gets a last second shot for the tie.

That can't happen anymore.

Maybe we neglected FT practice for ball handling practice this week.
Only 10 tOs today.

We lost the GA game because we shot only about 50% from the line. If we make just one of them, it wouldn't have gone into OT. So yes you can chalk at least on loss because of poor FT shooting.

It definitely gives you the best chance to win the close games. And we are in so many close games, we HAVE to get better.

The reason we can't hit free throws right now is because of the hard core, chin checkin, pounding defense that we are playing now! It's like doing as many push ups as you can, then immediately get up & try to shoot a free throws! It's just not going to happen! Once their bodies make the physical adjustment they will be sinking them like they were in the beginning of the season. The best thing that happened to our VOLS was the blowout by Memphis, since then coach Zo said Hell no it ain't going to happen again 2 me & my boyz!!!!! Go VOLS!!!!!!

let me say first they definitely need to improve as a team, as already stated we find ourselves in close games often and lots of times turnovers and free throws are the difference. im not as worried about golden, he has always been a good ft shooter, this year all the way back to hs, he seemed very surprised that they didnt fall he is automatic. i dont blame it on fatigue either because everyone of his free throws was long and hit the back iron, just kind of a fluke i dont know but i fully expect him to be back to normal. stokes will get it worked out as said hes too good of a shooter to not be a good free throw shooter, and he wants to get better so i expect him to improve it.

Only 1 in the second half, IIRC. I was worried going into the half with so many turnovers, but they got it together.

yes you are correct. 9 in the first half 1 in the second half, honestly what i think is the most important stat of the game and could be very important going forward.

Our guys don't seem to concentrate at the stripe. Seems like Golden especially just steps up there and chunks it toward the goal.

I remember watching a high school interview where they talked about his 90% free throw percentage and I thought our woes were over.
