We had a veteran team this year. We're losing a lot of those guys. So 2023 looked to be the year that there would be major freshman playing time. However, there's been more of that happening in 2022 than people may realize.
Offense:
WR Squirrel White 5'10 160 lbs
17 rec 355 (20.9 avg) 1 TD
RB Dylan Sampson 5'10 190 lbs
44 car 255 yards (5.8 avg) 2 Tds
Total yards generated:
- 61 touches 610 yards 3 TDs
Defense:
LB Elijah Herring 6'2 225
- 10 tackles 2 sacks
SS Jourdan Thomas 6'2 200
10 tackles
EDGE Joshua Josephs 6'4 225
- 9 tackles 1 sack
EDGE James Pearce 6'5 230
- 5 tackles 2 sacks
Total output:
34 tkls 5 sacks ( 5 out of 24 total)
Much of these stats were compiled in garbage time. But not all.
White is perhaps our 4th best WR with Bru out.
Sampson is seen as a future star.
Defense Pearce and Josephs got sacks during real minutes.
Jourdan Thomas is a special teams demon.
I think all these players will be big time next year!
